/ sound on / The #packaging for Borrowed Earth Objects is scalable, environmentally-conscious yet layered. The brand palette includes #colours and #textures that crafts this basic, practical yet beautiful box. Surprisingly most of these textures work splendidly across different #media too. While researching the materials, we considered: Mycelium, cardboard, paper mache, cotton, and even Shola pith. We filtered most based on its tenacity (think staining, damage in-transit) and usability without many support #materials. #Salvaged wood stood out for its ability to bring everything together, with characteristic perfect-imperfections textures The centre piece is the adaptable x-frame made of two wooden planks CNC’d with the shape of each object placed in an interlocking way without any adhesive. This design #concept can be carried forward for future collections that could consist of shapes different to what there is at present. This was our foundation around which we developed all the other layers to the packaging. The box system is modular, it can be expanded with additional elements to hold complex products such as the Jenga. One can also remove elements from it to create a design for a puzzle where each piece fits perfectly within the other. Yes, It is just a box, a well thought out box.

Here’s some process building my On inspired shoe using Gravity Sketch I like to have strong direction in 2D first, then I explore it further sketching in 3D around a digital last, finding how the parts work together.
