Just keep smiling! 😁 Just keep smiling! 😁 It's been a busy few weeks at our company, with new staff members joining, going through training, and settling in. We've been working on maximising our space as it shrinks with each new arrival. Despite the business, the recent spell of good weather has allowed us to onboard new team members smoothly. Our team is making great progress across projects, securing tender work, and welcoming new commercial clients with a large portfolio of businesses. This has enabled us to assign new staff members to a client base, streamlining our processes and enhancing service for our clients. On a personal note, navigating through this past month has been filled with emotions alongside external factors has presented me with some challenges, which can knock your confidence but you can't stay down for long. Although you have to acknowledge these hurdles, to move on you've got to set them aside, put on your brave face, and forge ahead, business as usual, right? Finally get a moving date for our new home on Thursday was fantastic and has raised my spirits. Although, bloody typical that it looks like there will be no relaxing September weekend for me as I now need to use this time to begin the much dreaded packing! October, please be kind! #Typical #TeamExpansion #PersonalGrowth #Resilience

Good advice...
The next time you need a day off, don’t just stay at home.

That’s another week smashed out! I’m taking the weekend off (earned it, I think), but it got me thinking—only about 70-75% of my working hours are spent on the actual work I get paid for. The rest. Admin tasks, invoicing, advertising, social media posts, emails, accounting, van maintenance, insurance, and the occasional unforeseen drama. It's a good reminder that running a business isn't just about the job itself; it's the thousand little things behind the scenes. Being a single guy (calm down, ladies! 😜), I can dedicate more time to all this, but I genuinely marvel at businesswomen juggling work and family life. Hats off to you—your time management skills are elite! January has been a bit quieter (as expected), and I still have a few days free this month. February’s around the corner, and things usually start ramping up then. If you’ve got a project on the horizon and want to make your life easier, why not get it sorted now? Give me a shout—I’ll take care of it so you don’t have to. Light up the inbox! Shout me up and have coverage taken care of before it begins

You should NEVER feel guilty or awkward taking time off at work. I bet you’ve felt this way before though… here’s the thing… we should never feel this way!! We spend a lot of time at work, dedicating ourselves to our teams, our projects and forgetting to prioritize ourselves. As the weather gets warmer, you might find yourself wanting time off to recharge and relax (I repeat… as you should!) Here’s how to request time off from your boss without feeling this way ⬇️ “Hi Boss, I’m writing to request time off for next [week/month/year]. I’m requesting to use [# of] vacation days to [share reason IF COMFORTABLE and exact dates you would be off]. I wanted to reach out as soon as possible to ensure my request doesn’t come as a surprise and so I can confirm details for my time off. Please let me know if you require additional information to support this request. If you have any concerns, I’d be happy to discuss possible solutions. Looking forward to hearing from you!” That’s it. It’s that simple. Coming back from a powerful 48 hours in NY for #PavilionCMOSummit2024. Normally I’d post about the takeaways like everyone else, and I will … next week. Instead, today I’ll take a personal approach. This was my first work trip since having Bryce. As someone who has always had my foot on the gas when it came to my career, everything kind of changes once you have a baby, if I’m being honest. 🏡 You look at time away from home much differently than you did before. 🍸You skip the late night happy hours bc you want to get back to the hotel to FaceTime your little one. ✈️ You shorten your trip to get back sooner, rather than staying through the weekend. 👀 And, you’re checking the home cameras to make sure you’re husband is doing everything you told him (ha, just kidding - Josh did great) While it might have been different, and even though I really missed my little man … boy oh boy did it feel great to get back out there! Feels nice to figure out my new balance and know that as a new mom your career doesn’t have to take a back seat… you can push it forward at whatever speed you feel comfortable with. 💪 #workingparents #workingmoms #maternity #career #professionaldevelopment #cmo
