The stories we tell ourselves about our lives shape everything—from the decisions we make to the limits we place on ourselves. But what if those stories are outdated? What if they’re holding us back from becoming the person we truly want to be? In her TED Talk, Lori Gottlieb challenges us to edit the narrative we’ve been telling ourselves. It’s exactly what we talk about at MindFluent UK: the ability to reprogram our minds and reframe those limiting beliefs. Your mind is incredibly powerful, and the stories it clings to can either propel you forward or keep you stuck. What if today was the day you rewrote your story, and created a new, empowering narrative?

Really strong piece here from Shyamantha Asokan:
BBC journalist covering Birmingham & the West Midlands. Previously at the FT, the Economist, Reuters.
“I was in a group of women who went: ‘No. We're having what we want and we will be fighting for it.’ “ In the mid-1980s, a group of women put on trailblazing projects in Birmingham, from a week-long women’s festival to a report on low pay. And they did this despite opposition to their work. An archive project hopes to showcase this little-known part of the city’s history for today’s Brummies. Here’s my story, hope you enjoy it! https://lnkd.in/eWZeAdZZ

Thanks to the generous support of our community, Boss Women Matter (BWM) Round Table Talks have become a vital resource for Black women founders in Chicagoland. These open dialogues are a lifeline for Black women founders and serve as a cornerstone for community building, policy advocacy, and capacity building. While substantial progress has been made, the journey to economic equality for Black women founders remains challenging. Despite persistent systemic funding disparities to underrepresentation, our expanding community of founders is steadfast in their commitment to overcoming these barriers and creating a more equitable economic landscape. Never before has our work been more critical. By dismantling these obstacles, we not only empower individuals but also uplift entire communities. Each Black woman founder supported is a beacon of hope, illuminating a brighter future for us all. So today we invite you to make an impact with a powerful statement of support. Your contribution will not only help us expand our Round Table Talks, but provide mentorship, and advocate for policies. Together, we can empower the next generation of Black women entrepreneurial leaders. Will you join us in creating a brighter future? Three years ago today, I left the corporate world, for good 😳 Some people thought it was a mistake. “What about your monthly salary?” “What will you do if it doesn’t work out?” “Hope it works out, but you can always come back here” But I knew something they didn’t… I had coaches in my corner and a solid strategy. I didn’t just take a leap, I made a strategic decision. Every move I’ve made has been carefully strategized, documented and analysed. I’ve had 100000 failures but I’ve learned fast. Today, I’m proud to say: ✔️ 18 award nominations ✔️ 5 wins, including Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 ✔️ Senior executives & female founders from well known organisations now seek me out for guidance. This wasn’t luck. It was all part of my strategy, because I care deeply about helping leaders like you achieve more with confidence, impact, and balance. If you’re ready to: 👉🏻Lead more strategically 👉🏻Build confidence in your decisions 👉🏻Finally make time for what matters Join me on 5th December at 4pm for an info session about the 3SIXTY Leaders Club. DM me the word ‘INFO’ to get the link xx

Happy International Women's Day to all the incredible women out there! Today, we celebrate not just the collective strides we've made towards equality and empowerment but also the individual journeys that have brought each of us to where we are today. From the boardroom to the classroom, from the arts to the sciences, our achievements are as diverse as they are significant. And today, I want to share a message that’s more personal than business… This is a photo of five generations of strong and resilient women from Mississippi. My great-grandmother was born in 1903 in Lincoln County, MS, my grandmother was born in Fair River in 1920 (the first of 10 surviving children), and my mother in Brookhaven, a Boomer. I was born in Jackson, and my daughter was born in New Orleans and grew up in Covington, Louisiana. And if you’re in the South with me, girl, we are in danger. In a country where we can seemingly be anything and do anything if we are willing to do the work, this is not true for everyone. It’s no longer true for women in many states. So, today, for International Women’s Day, I want to remind every woman reading this in the United States (and those abroad who can vote here) that each of us has a voice in the democratic process, and 2024 is the year to find your voice if you haven’t been paying attention. Voting is not just our right, it’s our responsibility. Voting honors the Suffragettes who fought for all of us and the generations of women to come. Voting is our power to shape a future that continues to uphold and advance our equal rights and stand up to those who would move us backward. Let's pledge to use this power well so that every vote we cast brings us closer to a world where equality for ALL isn't just a goal, but a reality. To all the women reading this, know that your voice matters, your vote counts, and your contributions are invaluable to our collective progress. Here's to celebrating how far we've come, recognizing how much further we have to go, and embracing the role each of us plays in creating a more equitable world. #InternationalWomensDay #Empowerment #Vote #Equality

Wow! I'm so proud of our office for wining this incredibly important award for the **fourth** time! Recipients of this award were able to describe in 1000 words or less how we embody the the mission of AWLA: to promote and encourage the success of women lawyers throughout the State of Arizona. It was tough to distill it down, but with the help of Jimi Feldman, we were able to share a taste of all that we do. A few highlights worth sharing here: (1) As of June 30, 2024, our US offices are comprised of 69% women, and 59% of our managing partners in US offices are women. We are particularly proud of the women's representation in our Phoenix office. This location is comprised of 72% women overall, hosting 75% women partners and 71% women associates. Additionally, the office is overseen by a woman managing partner, Sandra Reguerin who also sits on Fragomen’s Executive and Finance Committees. (2) The Phoenix office’s book club read Crying in H Mart, a memoir that explores the complex relationship between a daughter and her mother, themes of identity and the challenges of navigating loss and family expectations. (3) In November 2023, the Phoenix office organized a canned food drive for Maggie’s Place – an organization that supports women experiencing homelessness during pregnancy and their baby’s first year. (4) The Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) is the largest employee resource group at the firm with representation from 90% of our North America offices. (5) Phoenix Partner Jill Bloom was recently recognized in Corporate Counsel’s 2024 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards in the “Mentor & Mentee Collaboration” category for her exceptional ability to empower and guide others. (6) Fragomen is a women-owned business, and we are currently applying for certification as a Women Business Enterprise. We recognize that the achievement of diverse figures is not the destination; we remain intentional and strategic in our inclusion programming to help Fragomen become a center of belonging and make tangible positive differences in our firm culture.
We are proud to be recognized by the Maricopa Chapter of the ARIZONA WOMEN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION with the 2024 All in For Women Award! This award is given to organizations furthering the AWLA's mission to promote and encourage the success of women lawyers throughout the state of Arizona. Members of Fragomen's Phoenix team were also happy to celebrate this honor at the Association's award reception last week! 🏆⭐ Learn more: https://bit.ly/4ehB7tN 📸 Pictured from left to right: Partners Sandra Reguerin and Jill Bloom, Associate Hannah Jahn and Senior Associate Cate Hill #WomenInLaw #Arizona #Phoenix #ImmigrationLaw #ImmigrationServies
