Ughh... Government Contracting cycles are LONG! One of my clients beat the average and closed in 4 months by doing this... First, as a tech based small business we leveraged the SBIR process to secure government funding and gain traction with federal customers. A SBIR win also give a business sole source contracting mechanisms for future federal purchases. *Most SBIR winners do not take advantage of this!! A best practice that often goes overlooked is reaching out to the point of contact in the initial weeks after a solicitation's release. By setting up a meeting, you are able to learn all the use cases, ask detailed questions, and gain a competitive advantage. Additionally, you can target STTR opportunities, which have higher win rates. These opportunities typically require partnering with a nonprofit like a university so keep that in mind... SBIRs seem to be getting more competitive so using strategies to improve your win rate are more important than ever! DAVIS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES CHANGES FOR 2025 The Davis Memorial Foundation, a strong financial supporter of construction industry education since 1997, has announced its plans to expand its reach in the roofing industry. Setting the standard for other construction industry scholarships in the Western United States, these changes will help the Davis Memorial Foundation continue to increase its contributions to the roofing and construction industries. Alongside the Western States Roofing Contractors Association's Western Roofing Expo, the Davis Memorial Foundation raised over $110,000 in funding for its scholarship program. With this amount in mind, the Board of Trustees for the Foundation has decided to increase the amount of scholarships that they are granting to students each year from ten to 15 scholarships, with each scholarship having the value of $5,000. https://lnkd.in/draegG5K

A great opportunity to hear and learn from two of Canada's most experienced public private partnership (#p3) infrastructure professionals (Ian Podmore of Concert Infrastructure and Kevin Pringle of Government of Alberta) when it comes to the design, construction, finance, and management of bundled schools. The recently constructed Alberta High Schools P3 project deliver modern, innovative, and flexible education facilities across Alberta to meet students' needs, enhance learning experiences, and to enable them to grow in their communities. The project is an example of the opportunity and importance of using private capital, including that of pensions, to stretch scarce tax dollars further, bringing enhanced discipline and oversight of the investors to deliver infrastructure on time and on budget. It also is an example of thinking long term when procuring infrastructure to ensure there is committed and protected funding for ongoing maintenance, life cycle renewal and operation costs for decades to come. A protection against deferred maintenance risk and liability.

This program offers grants to support BC First Nation communities in enhancing their Guardians initiatives. With a focus on training, education, and skills development, GSTI aims to build the capacity of local Guardians to manage, protect, and conserve their ancestral lands according to their traditions, values, and Indigenous laws. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: Three Funding Streams: Tailored to meet the varying needs of BC First Nations, from new and emerging programs to regional collaborations.
