Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service’s Post

We recently welcomed local MP for Bury North, James Frith, to our Bury and Ramsbottom stations, the first visit as part of ongoing GMFRS MP engagement sessions. At Bury Fire Station, James observed one of our apprentice Fire Fighters complete a mid-point assessment which included a road traffic collision demonstration. At Ramsbottom Fire Station, the crew gave James an informative look through the specialist DIM (Detection, Identification and Monitoring) vehicle equipment. James Frith, MP for Bury North said: "It was great to visit Bury and Ramsbottom fire stations to meet the teams there and understand more about how our fire fighters are trained to deal with a whole range of emergencies and incidents. A big well done to apprentice Josh who had the unenviable pressure of his MP visiting during his mid-point assessment! And thanks to the crews who took the time to talk to me about how they’re using new technology to deal with major incidents.”
