At VIPediatrics, we’re on a mission to make the world a better place—starting with our community. 🌎 Part of creating a brighter future for our children and families means encouraging everyone to make their voices heard. That’s why we’re proud to support early voting here in Florida {starting tomorrow!} Voting is one of the simplest, yet most impactful ways to shape the future we want to see. We’re encouraging our team to get out and vote during early voting and aiming for 100% participation from our team. Whether it’s by offering flexible schedules or simply having conversations about why voting matters, we’re making sure everyone has the time and support to participate in our democracy. 💡 To other organizational leaders, here’s a challenge: Get your teams involved too. Provide the flexibility and encouragement they need to vote early. When we make it easy for people to vote, we’re helping build a stronger, more engaged community. Let’s lead by example—together, we can inspire a wave of civic engagement that truly makes a difference. How are you encouraging voting within your organization? #EarlyVoting #VIPediatrics #CivicEngagement #Leadership #VoteEarly #Florida #MakeADifference #GetOutTheVote

Anti-trafficking nonprofits MUST understand the importance of survivor leaders. By incorporating survivor leaders into board and program director roles, nonprofits not only follow best practices but also ensure their work is truly impactful, ethical, and survivor-centered. Survivor leadership transforms organizations, making them more compassionate, effective, and capable of addressing the complexities of trafficking. Here is what a survivor had to say about the importance of having a board member or program director in the organization..... “Survivors on boards ensure that organizations stay grounded in reality. We are the ones who know the survivor journey inside and out, and our insight can keep programs effective, trauma-informed, and responsive to real needs.” ~ Tina Frundt, trafficking survivor and founder of Courtney’s House (Source: Public statements and advocacy work) #togetherfreedom #EndHumanTrafficking #survivorvoices #survivorleadership #Survivors #bestpractices #ethical

"Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you." - Ruth Bader Ginsburg In a world where passions run deep and convictions shape our actions, Ruth Bader Ginsburg's words resonate profoundly. Advocacy isn't just about championing your beliefs; it's about fostering a collective spirit that invites others to stand alongside you. When we fight for what matters to us, we have a choice in our approach. We can shout our opinions from the rooftops, hoping to drown out dissenting voices. Or, we can lead with empathy, understanding, and a willingness to listen. Ginsburg's wisdom reminds us that true progress isn't achieved in isolation but through unity. Effective advocacy isn't a solo performance; it's a symphony of voices harmonizing towards a common goal. It's about understanding that our strength lies not just in the power of our convictions but in our ability to inspire and mobilize others. It's about leading by example, demonstrating the values we stand for through our actions. So, let us fight passionately for what we believe in, but let us do so with open hearts and open minds. Let us build bridges instead of walls, inviting others to join us on the journey towards a better world. Because when we fight together, guided by compassion and understanding, there's no limit to what we can achieve. #Advocacy #Unity #Leadership

My former boss David Weil just posted that @Workshop has launched an amazing Toolkit: An Organizer’s Guide to Executive Action! This tool kit put together by my former colleague, boss, mentor and friend Mary Beth Maxwell provides key insights many of us gained during the Obama administration about driving meaningful change. As a former WHD Chief of Staff, I had the privilege of working closely with Mary Beth and saw firsthand the incredible impact of her work. This toolkit is a fantastic resource for anyone passionate about issues and eager to create smart, effective policies or protect policies under attack. Dive in and use this guide to make a real difference. #Leadership #PolicyChange #ExecutiveAction #PublicPolicy #SocialImpact #CommunityOrganizing #Advocacy #SmartPolicy #EffectiveGovernance #ChangeMakers Check it out here:

Survivor-led collectives are creating powerful change by uniting individuals with shared experiences into a movement of solidarity and advocacy. Through leadership training, financial literacy programs, and counseling support, survivors are gaining the skills to heal, rebuild, and lead efforts that challenge trafficking, child marriage, and other exploitative practices. These collectives are creating a tangible impact by helping members access entitlements like ration cards, achieving sustainable livelihoods, and building stigma-free, supportive communities. Through street theatre and interactive campaigns, they are inspiring action, engaging duty bearers, and breaking down barriers for lasting transformation. Survivors are rising as empowered leaders, shaping a collective vision for justice and a safer, brighter future for all. #CollectiveAction #LeadershipNext #survivorleadership

It may be #HispanicHeritageMonth but I prefer to think about it as #LatineLegacyMonth. It's not just about celebrating culture and bringing visibility to our community, but also addressing the reality that people face. The Latina Pay Gap is real and unfortunately it increases with more advanced levels of education. I grew up knowing Latinas who worked multiple jobs who reinvested what little they had in their community. I've known Latinas working professional jobs who haven't been paid their worth and yet still give willingly to help and support others - whether it's donations, investments, or providing unpaid labor. I've known Latinas who have had to start over later in life and who have faced stigma and barriers to workforce re-entry, yet they still made time to mentor and motivate others. Closing the pay gap is the right thing to do - that in itself should be enough reason to take action. But there's also this: Latinas already do so much with less; imagine the possibilities if we invested in Latinas equally. Yes - continue to support the small business during Hispanic Heritage Month, BUT also take action in other ways - learn about the issues or community faces and take action to make a positive impact for the Latine community in other spaces. I hope you can join us at this event. It may be titled "Latina" equal pay day, but it's a great opportunity to reflect on the legacy and impact we can all (men, women, Latino, Latina, non-Latine) have on the issue so I invite you to join us. Come learn about what you can do to eliminate the Latina Pay Gap and support the path to Intergenerational Wealth for all. This event is for anyone who wants to learn more about what a financial journey looks like and how we can move from inequity to intergenerational wealth. It's intended for a range of people - from those who haven't gotten started to those who are ready to become accredited investors - there will be something for everyone. If you're not able to attend in person, register to join us online. Finally I wanted to give a shout out to the amazing Latina leadership team that organized this event (Suleiny Altamirano Cynthia Vargas Hernández and Rosario Sethi) and fantastic financial experts who will be sharing insights and strategies (Laura Espriu, ACC, Viri Guillen, Lupe Rosales, Mariza H. Sheehan Elizabeth Trippel, PhD Hugo Granja Flores). #LatinaEqualPayDay #SeattleALPFA
