Child care challenges impact families statewide, but solutions are within reach. Check out this op-ed in Nogales International by FTF Regional Director Francisco J. Padilla where he shares more about this visit and the need for bold solutions to support Arizona families: https://lnkd.in/g-qJetRB. During a recent visit to Nogales with legislators from Legislative District 21, staff from the #FTFSantaCruzRegion and partners from the Children's Action Alliance highlighted the critical role of family resource centers in supporting parents and caregivers. From the Nogales Family Resource Center to a “cafecito” with local child care providers, Padilla showcased firsthand accounts of resilience, challenges and solutions. Parents shared how these centers foster connection and equip families with tools for early childhood success. Child care providers spoke candidly about affordability, accessibility and the importance of investing in quality early learning. Arizona families deserve access to high-quality early learning opportunities. Investing in children today means better outcomes for our communities tomorrow.

Do you feel stuck in your approach to child care setting management or unsure if you're truly meeting the needs of the children in your care? One of our providers shared this insight after working with CICC: '[I realized] how valuable of a resource the CICC [coaching] program is to be able to have someone come in with a new set of eyes just to see how things are going and then provide feedback and strategies that we can use to move forward.' At CICC, we're here to be that fresh perspective, helping you navigate challenges and enhance your child care setting. Our coaching helps transform how you engage with the children in your care, making every day a step forward in providing the best care possible. Implementing clear expectations and behavioral guidelines is more than checking the boxes on your enrollment or procedures to-do list. It establishes a foundation for a supportive community. Detailing support strategies in family handbooks is critical, as it helps to set the stage for children's success and ensures families feel informed and involved. Continuous dialogue between child care providers and families helps to uncover insights into a child's behavior, guiding us toward tailored interventions that support rather than exclude. Remember, open communication through email, text, a phone call, or an in-person meeting is the most important tool for ensuring success among our youngest learners. Don't be afraid to talk with families or providers when you see something worth discussing, but approach the subject with empathy and genuine care for their child. #inclusionmatters #earlychildhoodeducation #mnchildcare #earlychildhoodeducators #parentsupport
