#DisruptiveTech 🔵 Report released by the team at Drone Industry Insights: Based on the most recent data, there are a few things that are clear: drones are being used in just about every corner of the globe, the top reason to use drones is safety, and the industry as a whole has become cautiously optimistic about its future (but optimistic nonetheless). The 7th annual survey, which took place from May to July of 2024, collected responses from 964 participants across 94 countries. This was a slight decrease in participation from 2023, yet a substantial increase in the number of countries represented. Here is an overview of the key findings: 🔵 Global Diversification: The drone industry is becoming more globally diversified. Number of participating countries increased by 11% (from 85 to 94). Concentration of responses from the top 10 countries decreased to 56% in 2024. The United States remains the most represented country, followed by India and Spain. Top 10 countries now include nations from 4 out of 6 continents. 🔵 Industry Priorities and Concerns: Safety is the primary driver for drone adoption, with 64% rating it as “very important”. Regulatory obstacles remain the top challenge. Client acquisition has risen to the second biggest challenge, up from fifth place in 2023. Public awareness and acceptance has fallen to fifth place in 2024. 🔵 Political Factors: Increasing importance of local political factors. Domestic politics climbed to third place in industry challenges. Geopolitics fell to tenth place. 🔵 Market Expectations: Positive outlook with a score of 6.8 for market expectations in 2024. 🔵 Industry shows cautious optimism. Market-Driving Factors:Rule-making authorities are crucial, with 57% considering them important (up from 52% in 2023).
