No thanks. I appreciate your earnest call on public sector action on climate change but how about we see equal or more skin in the game from your coalition members, We Mean Business Coalition? Society, let’s let the business coalition show it means business by they advocating for goverments to apply new and higher taxes on businesses prorated based on emissions and also advocate for performance-based penalties for not meeting annual carbon emission reduction targets. Once you do this then we’ll talk about using your employees and consumers tax dollars to fund your business’ ESG reporting and SBTi Commitments ie mitigate your reputation, legal and operational risks. ▶ A Call to Action for G20 Leaders ◀ As COP29 enters its second week and the G20 leaders convene in Rio de Janeiro, we in Climate Leadership Coalition—representing Nordic forerunner businesses—stand alongside thousands of global companies committed to reducing emissions, accelerating the clean energy transition, and building resilient economies. The world’s largest economies, represented by the G20, account for 77% of global emissions and 85% of the global economy. This gives the G20 an unparalleled opportunity—and responsibility—to lead climate action. In our joint Letter to G20 Leaders, we emphasize three key actions: 1️⃣ Submit High-Ambition NDCs: Commit to Nationally Determined Contributions that are 1.5°C aligned, backed by sector-specific plans and policies. 2️⃣ Catalyze Climate Finance: Deliver ambitious financing goals, including unlocking essential private sector investment and ensuring robust support for developing countries. 3️⃣ Accelerate the Energy Transition: Define a clear timeline for phasing out unabated fossil fuels and scaling up clean energy and energy efficiency. Business is Ready to Act: The private sector is already investing in clean energy solutions and resilient supply chains. Now, we call on global leaders to match this ambition with policies that drive real-world change. With global instability and climate challenges mounting, the G20 has the opportunity to unite and lead. Let’s rise above the challenges and deliver a just response to the climate crisis. As heads of state prepare to meet at the #G20Summit in Rio de Janeiro, they have an opportunity to build on the progress from COP28 and galvanize policy negotiations at COP29 in Baku. As we enter a critical second week of negotiations at #COP29, we know that governments have to agree on an ambitious new finance goal in order to meet their commitments already set out in the Paris Agreement and the Global Stocktake. To G20 Leaders: 38,000+ businesses and society leaders are ready to transform the global economy. To do this, we have two asks: ➡ Move the money: Agree a high-ambition finance goal at COP29 which catalyzes the finance required to meet the needs of developing economies. ➡ Publish the plans: Submit national climate plans by February that are 1.5°C-aligned, sector-specific and backed by investment positive policies that can turbocharge sustainable growth.   It’s not game over, it’s game on. #Mission2025 www.mission2025.world

A Global Just Green Transition at COP29 💚⚖️ Today, Anne Højer Simonsen from Danish Industry (DI) hosted a panel debate at COP29 on how we can make the global green transition more inclusive to women and young people. 🌍 COP 29 is the world's largest climate change conference. The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation will be part of the Ukrainian delegation to the UN Climate Change Conference #COP29, which gathers world leaders to make decisions aimed at combating climate change and reducing global surface temperatures. This year, despite all the challenges of the war, Ukraine is presenting its plan to reduce CO₂ emissions and achieve a 27% share of renewable energy by 2030.
