French independent power producer (IPP) TSE has secured €65 million (US$68 million) bond financing from asset management firm Eiffel Investment Group for an 800MW agrivoltaics (agriPV) portfolio.

This investment will enable us to accelerate the decarbonisation and electrification of residential heating across Europe.  Today, Europe still relies on 130 million fossil fuel boilers to heat homes, accounting for 10% of Europe’s total CO2 emissions. With a growing group of leading climate tech investors and a total investment of €195 million in equity funding and grants, we will accelerate our ambition to serve 5 million homes with clean energy-tech solutions across Europe over the next 10 years. Schroders Capital and BlueOrchard Finance Ltd have invested $5 million, through the Green Earth Impact Fund (GEIF), into the African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4 (AIIF4), managed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM). The investment has been made into AIIF4 Climate Investment LP, a dedicated vehicle within the AIIF4 fund that focuses on climate impact investments in the infrastructure space. Paul Frankish, head of strategic initiatives at African Infrastructure Investment Managers, said: “We are delighted to welcome GEIF as an investor into our AIIF4 fund. QIC is pivoting its new infrastructure investment fund to Australasia after successfully raising $700m in the face of what has been described as challenging market conditions globally. There are now hopes that figure could climb to $3bn upon final close of the fund, which City Beat hears is pivoting towards more investment in renewable-related assets.
