A message from Greenbacker Co-Founder David Sher this holiday season: 2024 was a milestone year for Greenbacker, from bringing online the largest solar plant in company history to pioneering one of the first clean energy deals to leverage new policies under the IRA. These amazing achievements were possible thanks to our investors, project partners, and the incredible dedication of Greenbackers across our organization. As I reflect on these successes, I’m energized by our momentum and excited for the opportunities ahead in 2025. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year.

💬 “The world has a resource paradox. We are running out of resources but simultaneously send resources to landfills. Carrot was created to use data to help solve this waste problem,” says Tine Charlotte Holm, COO of Carrot AS. Carrot was established in 2017 in Bergen, Norway. The company’s cloud-based software accurately tracks waste, generating data that can be used to incentivise people to sort and recycle. After a feasibility study grant from Nopef, Carrot decided to enter the UK market. Carrot already had some great results in Norway but now, British property managers are reducing waste and improving recycling with the Norwegian company’s data gathering and analysis solution. 🔗 Read more about Carrot on: https://lnkd.in/dach7kiZ ℹ️ Nopef, the Nordic Project Fund, is financed by Nordisk Råd og Nordisk Ministerråd and managed by Nefco - the Nordic Green Bank. The fund’s primary objective is to support the internationalisation of Nordic small and medium-sized companies by offering grants for feasibility studies.

Continuing to celebrate Great Big Green Week, today we're focusing on the transition to affordable renewables and sustainable recycling! 🌍 We're highlighting the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydro power. At Recycle It Global (RIG), we transform waste from Construction, Demolition, Mining, and Marine Dredging into high-quality recycled aggregate. Here’s how recycled aggregate supports this transition 🌿 ♻ Resource Efficiency: Reduces demand for virgin materials, conserving resources and lowering energy consumption, making renewable projects more affordable. ♻Reduced Environmental Impact: Produces less CO2 than new aggregate, lowering the carbon footprint and environmental impact of mining. ♻Waste Reduction: Prevents waste from ending up in landfills, promoting a circular economy and sustainable resource management. ♻Support for Green Infrastructure: Used in green projects like wind farms and solar plants, enhancing their sustainability. ♻Cost Savings: More cost-effective than new materials, reducing project costs and making renewables more competitive with fossil fuels. ♻Integrating recycled aggregate in renewable energy projects promotes sustainability and affordability, driving the transition to a greener future. One thing I’ve come to appreciate in my work is the connection between cost efficiency and innovation. By optimizing our processes and reducing waste, we free up resources to invest in transformative projects like expanding renewable diesel production or advancing circular solutions. At Neste, this mindset isn’t just about saving money—it’s about enabling progress. It’s a balance that I strive to bring to every project I’m part of - personally and professionally

#RecyclingCity is proud to be at the forefront of fostering green innovation and supporting the growth of sustainable industries. With the strong backing of EU green support schemes and a commitment to environmental excellence, we have established an environment where businesses can thrive and lead in global markets. A standout example of this success is M.A.R.S. Europe (Modern American Recycling Services Europe), a pioneer in the decommissioning of oil and gas installations, particularly FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessels. Through their dedication to meeting Danish and European environmental standards, M.A.R.S. Europe has achieved a global leadership position in sustainable decommissioning practices. This expertise has not only reinforced their competitive edge but has also allowed them to expand their influence worldwide, including the development of new green decommissioning sites in regions such as Brazil. At Recycling City, we collaborate with businesses to leverage national and international advocacy, ensuring that companies have the resources and strategic support needed to scale their operations and innovate sustainably. By connecting companies with EU funding opportunities and showcasing the benefits of our comprehensive green business framework, we help enterprises establish a global presence rooted in environmental responsibility. Our mission is to position Recycling City as a beacon for green tech firms, offering unparalleled access to a supportive ecosystem that champions sustainable growth and leadership on the world stage. Let’s create a future where innovation meets sustainability and businesses flourish with purpose.
