This year, team FEAST took bold steps to continue their to call for healthier food policies and tackle the commercial determinants of health. It's been a non-stop year and one that we've been proud to be a part of. So, what were our key moments and takeaways? 🌱 March: We kicked off with a public webinar discussing the ways different interests shape food cultures and how changing fixed views can lead to healthier policies. 🌱 April: At the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 event on Nutri-Score, we advocated why tools like this are essential to support people to make healthier food choices. 🌱 Year-round: We hosted policy sessions at this year's European Health Forum Gastein and 2023's European Public Health Conference, advocating for health to be prioritised as a societal value—not a negotiable commodity traded for corporate profit. But for us this year reinforced a critical truth: building healthier societies demands bold action, clear priorities, and collective commitment. Health cannot be negotiable—it must stand as a universal goal, above all else. Bring on 2025 FEASTies! Want to learn more? 🌎 This week, we celebrate #WorldFoodDay and embrace the theme "Right to food for a better life and a better future." A better life and better future include the rights of the people who grow, harvest, and process our food. We need to promote fair outcomes and better nutrition for food producers and workers, and their communities, while shifting the demand towards more sustainable food systems with less food waste. Let's raise our voices for a future where diverse and healthy options are available to all! https://lnkd.in/gkiUWx9Y Join us in the global conversation starting with flagship events on October 16 and 17 hosted by FAO, where we will discuss solutions and strategies for a more equitable food system.
