Every day is World Environment Day at Aranya Natural We celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a Plantation drive with our team of special associates. While we continue with our mission of empowering the specially-abled, we at Aranya Natural always try our best to be more environmentally conscious during our production. Here are some of the ways we are being more mindful of the environment and the various sustainable production practices we follow every day at Aranya Natural. 1. Using only Natural Dyes at Aranya: Since our inception in 1994, we have been committed to using only Natural Dyes at our studio in Munnar. Natural dyes are gentle on the environment, the people who work with the dyes, and the skin of the person who wears the fabric. We source natural dyes from locally available plants like Eupatorium, Eucalyptus, Tea waste from the Tea factories, pomegranate shell waste, and many more plant sources. 2. Upcycling our textile waste: Textile waste created by the fashion industry is considered one of the leading causes of Environmental damage, and we at Aranya are committed to doing our best to responsibly minimize our textile waste. We upcycle our fabric waste to make products like fabric jewelry, applique textile art, patchwork jackets, cushion covers, and more products. In collaboration with Athulya Paper Studio, we also upcycle our cotton fabric waste into woodfree handmade paper. This paper is used to make file covers, notepad covers, and other paper products. 3. Slow fashion approach to production at Aranya We handcraft all our products in small batches and follow a slow fashion approach for production; Creating what is needed, primarily driven based on orders and demand. Making things on a Made to Order basis also helps us minimize wastage and prevents over-production. We handcraft timeless pieces, made with quality materials to create products that will be cherished by our customers for many years to come. 4. Using only Natural Fibers: We use only natural fiber-based textiles at Aranya Natural. Sourced from across different parts of India, we create our products on fabrics made of cotton, linen, silk, wool, and other natural fibers. These fibers are biodegradable and go back to Earth at the end of their usage period, or can be readily recycled and reused without harming the environment. Aranya Natural is a unit of Srishti Trust, supported by Tata Trusts and Tata Consumer Products Ratna Krishnakumar Tata Sustainability Group #empoweringthespeciallyabled #worldenvironmentday #sustainability #naturaldyes

🌿 Sustainability Starts with Fabric Choices 🌿 I have been asked this quite a lot recently about what fabrics are more sustainable and why, so I have put together a few choices. Let me know your thoughts and preferences on this topic. In the clothing industry, sustainability begins with the materials we choose. By making conscious decisions from the outset, we can significantly reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future. Here are some excellent sustainable fabric choices: Organic Cotton: One of the most widely used fabrics in fashion, organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, promoting soil health and biodiversity. 🌱 Tencel (Lyocell): Made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, Tencel is renowned for its softness, breathability, and biodegradability. 🌳 Hemp: A natural fibre that requires fewer resources and pesticides than conventional cotton. Hemp is known for its durability and breathability. 🌾 Linen: Derived from flax plants, linen needs less water and fewer pesticides compared to cotton. It's a sustainable and versatile choice. 🌼 Bamboo: This fabric comes from bamboo pulp, which grows rapidly and requires fewer pesticides and water compared to other crops. Bamboo fabric is soft, sustainable, and a great eco-friendly option. 🎋 Additionally, consider getting creative with leftover fabrics and scraps. Utilizing ends of fabric lines and remnants not only reduces waste but also allows for unique, limited-edition designs. By making these sustainable fabric choices, we can create beautiful, eco-friendly garments that benefit both our planet and our customers. Let's continue to innovate and lead the way towards a more sustainable fashion industry. 🌍 #Sustainability #FashionIndustry #EcoFriendly #SustainableFabrics #CircularFashion #ConsciousChoices #SustainableFashion #Textiles #ClothingDesign

Why Bamboo Fabric is a Game-Changer in Sustainable Fashion Bamboo fabric is a revolutionary material in the fashion industry, offering a highly sustainable alternative to conventional fabrics like cotton. Here are some reasons why bamboo stands out as a compelling choice: - Eco-Friendly Growth: Bamboo grows rapidly and naturally without the need for pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. It requires minimal irrigation and absorbs more carbon dioxide while releasing more oxygen compared to many other plants, reducing environmental footprints. - Water Efficiency: Bamboo's minimal water requirements make it a standout choice, using significantly less water than cotton, crucial in a world facing growing water scarcity. - Soft and Breathable: Known for its luxurious texture, bamboo fabric is soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking, making it ideal for comfortable, high-performance clothing. - Biodegradable: Bamboo fabric is 100% biodegradable, naturally decomposing without harming the environment, unlike synthetic fabrics that take decades to break down. - Antibacterial and Hypoallergenic: With natural antibacterial properties, bamboo fabric is resistant to odor and allergens, perfect for sensitive skin and hygienic, durable clothing. - Sustainability in Production: The production process for bamboo fabric can be environmentally friendly. Closed-loop systems can recycle water and solvents used during manufacturing, enhancing its eco-friendly profile. By incorporating bamboo fabric into our products, we're not just offering a premium textile. Join us in embracing sustainable fashion with bamboo fabric! #SustainableFashion #BambooFabric #EcoFriendlyFashion
