Last week we hosted a Christmas dinner and I was in charge of decorations. 🎄 I had one goal: use zero plastic. My plan was simple—I would buy nature-based ornaments only. But as I walked around the city, I noticed something surprising: artificial trees, plastic branches, and fake flowers far outnumbered natural options. So, I decided to make the decorations myself. I used branches from flower shops, apples, and candles, which we held up by recycling egg cartons painted gold. 🍎🌿 It turned out much better than I expected! And the best part? When I picked everything up the next day, I created a branch bouquet that will last through the season—and then biodegrade. 🌍 The holiday season is also the high season for consumerism and waste, which can increase by up to 30% compared to the rest of the year. Yet, studies show 70% of people are keen to reduce their plastic waste this Christmas. So, as the festivities begin, remember: a zero-plastic Christmas is possible, and it can be just as beautiful. ✨ #sustainability #zeroWasteChristmas #happyHolidays
