One of GREENMAX's customers recycles #foam recycled material around the world and then ships it back to its Spanish facility for pelletizing. The recycled pellets are then supplied to parent company 's various XPS foam production plants in Europe. GREENMAX's collaboration with them began at K 2022, where a customer bought a prototype at the show. After 2023, they started a new #recycling project in Brazil with a single foam densifier M-C200. In early 2024, we will achieve a win-win cooperation with Moroccan recyclers and place a single M-C200. So far, they have placed an order for a total of 3 foam melters for EPS foam recycling. With the deepening of business communication between the two parties, GREENMAX began to contact the new EPP foam recycling project of the parent company in July 2024, and the customer also learned that GREENMAX foam densifier can recycle EPS, EPP, XPS and other materials at the same time, and several companies in Europe have started using GREENMAX machine several years ago. Therefore, at the end of 24 years, the customer finally decided to place an order for 3 foam densifier M-C200E for a large number of #EPP recycling in Europe next year, so that EPP foam recycling will really be bigger and better

At this decisive time for the direction of the circular economy, our colleagues at Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) are calling on all (mechanical and chemical) recyclers and sorters to contribute to a comprehensive picture of plastic recycling – including of PS, EPS and other styrenics, as well as of ELV and WEEE. PRE's 14 statistical (capacity) and technical surveys (please see below) cover facilities that operated in the EU, plus Norway, Switzerland and the UK in 2023. This year, PRE reaches out even more broadly by making the surveys available on a public website. For the first time, PRE uses dedicated surveys for sorting and chemical recycling. Since last year, PRE has used a dedicated survey on PS (and other styrenics). When reporting on the 2022 recycling capacity, PRE found that "PS recycling is taking off". Indeed, significant additional sorting and recycling capacity for PS will come online across Europe over the next months and years. However, PRE also had to observe that the growth of the overall plastic recycling capacity and especially output was slowing amidst unprecedented challenges by heavy market disruptions. – All the more reason to seek comprehensive data again. - PRE's original post with link to the surveys (open until 14 June): https://lnkd.in/e3WSd9n3 - PRE's findings for 2022 (and previous years): https://lnkd.in/edvqakZg

Have you been wondering about what is happening with the recycling of soft plastics? It’s still a big issue but we were feeling hopeful after reading about a new facility in Melbourne that is recycling this waste packaging into a type of concrete. A partnership between CRDC Australia and the Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP), the facility is turning hard-to-recycle items into a concrete material called RESIN8 that can be used in concrete, masonry bricks, blocks, pavers and asphalt. Hobsons Bay Council is trialling the material for a road project and The State Government is also looking at opportunities to utilise RESIN8 in future infrastructure projects. Furthermore, the facility is being used by The Soft Plastic Taskforce to recycle household soft plastics collected as part of an initial trial across 12 Melbourne supermarkets. To read more about RESIN8, click on the link in the first comment. #recycledpackaging #sustainability #RESIN8 #recycledplastic

if only there was a 100% natural, almost infinitely reusable, fast acting liquid that could 'deflate' this stuff and turn it into a safe fuel. Styrex UAE Polystyrene / EPS is THE most sustainable packaging we can use. it's the disposal/ recycling/ reuse that used to be the issue. Not anymore. www.fuelre4m.com/styrex
I am working on a discovery project on how to get household EPS packaging to one of the many recyclers. This is 9 months of EPS packaging waste at my house. When this box is full, I will take it with me to one of my plants to recycle. Yes, EPS is 100% recyclable and has a low carbon footprint to produce compared to many other materials. Can you join me in the discovery? Below is a recycling map for you to consult. Could it be as easy as taking a box like this once per year to a local recycler, getting to play manual tetris within the box at the same time? If you dont have a recycling center within 50 miles of your house in the United States, message me. I would like to research the gap and engage some local entities and see what we can do. This is a discovery. Include the code #epsvaluable https://lnkd.in/dseCXaBU FYI: EPS = Expanded PolyStyrene. The public often refers to it as styrofoam, but styrofoam is a trademarked Dupont product that uses extrusion rather than molding. We are focusing on molded EPS packaging as a valuable resource that absolutely can form a circular recycling loop. We just need to brainstorm solutions to the gaps that remain.

Post and pre-consumer foam packaging (aka Styrofoam) recycling efforts are paying off BIG TIME. Foam manufacturers, who have always recycled their production foam waste, are beginning to zero in on innovative recycled content resins. These innovations, combined with municipal recycling grants from the Foam Recycling Coalition and the placement of the patented Foam Cycle systems at community recycling drop-off centers, are all showing their results! 👉 Read the full 2022 EPS Recycling Report to find out more: https://bit.ly/4dsUkqZ ♻️ Every effort counts in building a sustainable future. 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄? Many materials used by the EU industry come from secondary or recycled sources. Producing goods using recycled materials is often much less energy-intensive than manufacturing goods from virgin materials. At RCDPLAS - Plastics Recycling, we believe in the power of recycling to: - Reduce production costs - Lower carbon emissions - Improve Europe's resource efficiency While recycling alone cannot meet the entire EU industry’s demand for raw materials, it holds great potential to enhance Europe’s resource efficiency. Join us in promoting a sustainable future by choosing recycled materials. Choose Recycle. Be the Change. #RCDPLAS #PlasticsRecycling #Sustainability #ResourceEfficiency #CircularEconomy #GreenManufacturing

WE LOAD 40 TONNES, AND WHAT DO WE GET? MadiganGill Logistics is fully committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever we are. One of the waste streams we have been focussing on is plastic, whereby, we procure ‘no single-use plastic’ products, where possible, and equally reduce the plastic waste on the projects we are involved with. A significant part of plastic waste on construction sites is Correx, which are temporary protective corrugated plastic sheets made of polypropylene and contribute to the more than two million metric tonnes of plastic packaging waste we generate in the UK annually. To help alleviate this problem, we have developed a strategic partnership with Protec International Ltd over the past couple of years following on from a successful trial with Multiplex at their Broadway project. This collaboration involves us working alongside one of our valued supply chain partners, Powerday, who have managed the baling and collection of used temporary protection sheets from our London projects, back to Protec’s fully integrated manufacturing and recycling centre, where they are shredded, washed, and remanufactured (into new Correx) before being used on another site. Working with Protec, Powerday and others, to date, we have collected c40 tonnes of used Correx and delivered a circular economy through Protec’s closed-loop scheme, which ultimately contributes to reducing the industry’s environmental impact – including diverting over 200m3 worth of plastic from landfill, carbon saving of ~135tCO2e, amongst others. Managing Director for MadiganGill Logistics and Demolition, Tony Ball, was delighted to see in a recent visit to our Green Quarter (TGQ) project - for St George PLC, that we are collecting the Correx, as part of our logistics and waste management package. “We are pleased with the results of this closed-loop scheme and are now rolling it out across all our projects where we are involved in waste management”.
