It’s not about a single piece of technology. It’s not about missing AI or better Intent data. Not that these things dint help are not important, but there is no silver bullet. Successful ABM starts with basic marketing fundameltals. It’s a holistic approach encompassing brand and demand strategies, media activation, personalization, optimization, nurturing, email, human and non-human interaction and engagement. It’s about experiences and quality content. It’s about data enrichment, data interoperability, privacy compliance. So many elements that need to be orchastrated. The missing element I see most? The lack of separate and distinct treatment of segmentation and targeting. They are not interchangeable words.

Currently attending Day 2 of The Social Media Marketing World Conference, attending mostly presentations on how AI can be used in B2B marketing. Wanted to share some of my key takeaways so far. Social media is changing fast, and the majority of marketers are feeling overwhelmed by it (including me). AI isn’t going away, so it’s important to embrace it as an opportunity, and allow it to enhance our work. I’m learning to see AI not as a replacement but an elevation. If I train it to think, behave, and create like me, it can do the busy work, allowing me the time to focus on being creative.
