Another busy week as two of the most significant events in the Greenpixie calendar - marking our key focuses FinOps and Sustainability - fall on the same week: FinOps X Europe & COP29 Azerbaijan. Greenpixie is once again a proud silver sponsor of the FinOps X in Barcelona. Please say hello to Dave Foster at our sponsor booth, book a meeting with Head of GreenOps James Hall, or catch CEO John Ridd at the sustainability focused talks and keynotes. Meanwhile, COP29 will bring together leaders to advance solutions to the defining issue of our time. This year cloud sustainability is one of the biggest issues on the agenda, with the explosion of cloud and now wasteful AI computation. Greenpixie is pleased to be invited among other thought leaders to debate and discuss a way forward. We've sent our very own Rory Brown to represent Greenpixie and our partners in this debate. Here's to an exciting and important week. #greenops #sustianability #finops #cop29 FinOps Foundation

Our Digital Assets Lead, Javier Garcia Nonay, recently participated in a panel at Point Zero Forum centered around why open-source technologies are important to the future of money. Some key highlights: 1️⃣ Hyperledger Foundation is transitioning to the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust and this new umbrella organization will leverage the global strength of Linux, blockchain, and digital identity projects, encompassing a broader portfolio of open-source software, standards, and specifications. 2️⃣ Open source is important as it ensures transparency, encourages community-driven development, and reduces costs by eliminating licensing fees, making open-source technologies accessible and collaborative. Money is a public good and thus the infrastructure to govern money should be public and open source. 3️⃣ Open source will win as it drives innovation, offers flexibility to tailor solutions to specific needs, and benefits from extensive community support and peer review 4️⃣ Open source promotes standardization, enabling seamless integration of systems and avoiding vendor lock-in, ensuring solutions are interoperable and future-proof. Other speakers included: Karen L. Ottoni, Senior Director of Ecosystem & Strategic Initiatives, Hyperledger Foundation Sergey Nazarov, Co-founder, Chainlink Labs Johnna Powell, Managing Director Technology Research & Innovation, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) Watch the event here: https://lnkd.in/gcyVf7yV

As we welcome the new year, we reflect on the Demia journey. From our first MVP in Chile, which proved the value of streamlined emissions reporting, to gaining recognition from industry leaders, validated by The World Bank and UN Environment Programme case studies. We have worked with partners such as Environment and Climate Change Canada, Dell Technologies, and Intel Corporation, leading to opportunities such as our Open Collaboration with Gold Standard which Google supported, and over 70 international sustainability organizations. As 2025 progresses, our commitment to making carbon credits work remains, and we look forward to working with more partners, projects, and ecosystems with a shared vision. A huge thank you to our ecosystem for collaborating with us. Horasis Global Meeting 2024. At the esteemed Horasis Global Meeting, an international forum renowned for fostering dialogue on pressing global challenges, Hugo Mathecowitsch, founder of Tools for the Commons, led a groundbreaking discussion on the shift from centralized Nation-States to decentralized Network Societies. The event, held in Vitória, Brazil, brought together global leaders, innovators, and changemakers to envision solutions for the evolving dynamics of governance, technology, and society. Hugo also presented a transformative vision central to Tools for the Commons: creating the infrastructure necessary to transition governance into the digital age. An initiative focused on fostering digital economic zones and enabling governance competition, redefining sovereignty while empowering communities to embrace innovative, decentralized social contracts. The discussion emphasized the Internet's potential not just as a communication tool but as a foundational institution capable of hosting new governance models. Emerging technologies were explored as forces challenging traditional state mechanisms, with case studies highlighting experimental jurisdictions that are driving innovation. By leveraging decentralized networks, the discourse underscored the transformative potential to empower communities, reshape governance frameworks, and respond to the complexities of an interconnected world. Against the backdrop of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro—where global leaders deliberated on preserving existing systems—the Horasis panel offered a striking contrast. In Vitória, discussions evolved into a “governance and civilization laboratory,” symbolizing the urgency of transcending outdated systems to embrace dynamic, network-driven governance models. Tools for the Commons stands at the forefront of this transformation, turning theory into actionable strategies. By building the frameworks for inclusive, competitive, and innovative governance, it is charting a path toward a resilient and adaptive global order. #Finance #Economy #Investment #Business #Startups #Organizations #Web3 #Blockchain #NetworkState #US #UK #EU

Rewards were activated at block #213,696, marking a pivotal moment in our journey, and demonstrating the strength of our community and technology. Our ecosystem continues to expand with new partnerships formed with Glacier Network and several others (to be announced throughout December). In addition, Astral has reached mainnet readiness, Devcon 7 yielded over 10,000+ registered contacts, and our Foundation Layer for AI3.0 Whitepaper and Litepaper have been released, alongside our preliminary token economics paper and a V1.1 Website update. Dynamo | The European Cloud Alternative was invited to present at #GaiaXSummit2024 in the Economic Theatre to showcase in detail our economic model in front of the members of the #GaiaX Institute and Université Paris Dauphine - PSL. A special view was taken by Joelle Toledano, Professor Emeritus associated with the Governance and Regulation Chair, Paris Dauphine-PSL University, Member of the French National Digital Council, and Lucas Eustache, PhD candidate, Governance and Regulation Chair, Paris Dauphine-PSL, on data sharing ecosystems to analyze: 💡 Value that participants extract from the ecosystem. What interests and benefits they can derive from their participation in the ecosystem? 💡 The role of data orchestrators both as drivers of emergence of a data sharing ecosystem, and as service providers to stakeholders in an operating ecosystem. We are excited that our economic model was recognized and results were delivered this morning to the plenary session involving #Dynamo. Exciting discussion on the potential of DAOs (Decentralised Autonomous Organisations) as the future of company and community governance. Here's a summary: 🕊️ DAOs offer decentralized collectives with no single legal entity, providing advantages like simplicity, borderlessness, and automation, yet pose challenges for regulators and contracting. 🧠 Notably, DAOs are currently outside the scope of European MiCA regulations, potentially offering legal and tax benefits, making them attractive for digital infrastructure and asset management innovation. 🫡 Deloitte's concise 8-pager offers insights, particularly for Europe and the Netherlands, on setting up or engaging with DAOs. 🤷🏽♂️ The normalization of DAOs in traditional startups and corporates remains uncertain. However, in Web3's realm with digital assets, cryptocurrencies, and smart contracts, DAOs are crucial for agility and innovation. What are your thoughts? Will DAOs become more mainstream? Join the conversation 😀 #DAOs #DecentralizedOrganizations #Web3 #Innovation
