Not everyone is onboard with the idea of sustainability… Why? As Julia Freer Goldstein Goldstein points out, “Many of them are not on board because they never really thought about what sustainability has to do with their job.” So, what can companies do to get employees more engaged and excited about sustainability? The first step is awareness. Educating employees on the importance of sustainability and how it relates to their job and the company’s operations is key to getting employees on board. By providing resources and information, employees will be able to understand the importance of sustainability and the impact it can have on their daily work and the company’s success. Integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, particularly environmental stewardship, has become crucial for organisations. Through a unique walking challenge, hipages Group employees engaged in a fun, team-building activity that also contributed to reforestation efforts. Over 10 days, every 15,000 steps taken by an employee resulted in a tree planted, culminating in over 1,679 trees planted through the Eden Reforestation Project. This initiative not only promoted physical and mental well-being but also demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability, achieving an 81% engagement rate across five global offices. Employee Sustainability Today, the organization faced employee sustainability problems. In the past, we all heard that, the Father and Grandfather have been working in one organization for 30 years, 40 years. How it's possible, on those days, stay in the company, work for the company and the job security is the core value. But now, employees do not mind staying, they work for the Remuneration package and the career growth. So, they don't want to work in a company for more than two years. Companies also do not encourage employees to stay in their job for more than five years. Because, they feel the fresh hands only make companies updated and successful. These myths are real? Absolutely wrong. Employee sustainability will be more productive than new employee productivity. Sustainable employees should clearly know about the company's products and services. Also well aligned with the mission and vision of the company. So make your employees sustainable.
