Mason, Alex Today is the 1st annual mock interview day at CT Innovation Center. Nice to meet you. My name's JB Sticks. We're treating this as if they were coming into a business. We have adults here from industry all over, from Michelin, BMW, even from Greenville County Schools. Loved your leadership experience up here at the top. We're going to walk through or going to mentor them. We're going to help them as they interview today. Our goal here is we don't want to lead, leave any rock unturned. We want to make sure those. Skills are developed, we want to make sure we really work on their strengths, but also work on some of the areas where they need to grow in. That question is going to come up a lot, so always have a really good example. A lot of our students haven't had the opportunity to have a formal interview at this point in their high school career, and so we believe that it's important to allow them the opportunity to sit and speak with an adult. These are all just skills that start here and that you can continue stacking upon and having industry here offering their time really. To me sends the message to the student that investing in our future workforce is exactly where industry needs to be. Your main strengths. What do you think is our? I think learning things quickly. We want them to walk away feeling more confident than they have been before. So when they leave Greenville High Schools and they graduate, they will be ready to go and sit in front of a admissions counselor or an employer and be able to secure that first job. Good luck. This is exciting day for the center and our students as we prepare them. To be college and career ready.

Thread: 14/u 🎓 Today marks the end of our VSPW Subject classes, it has been a wonderful experience, trying out different types of activities to increase confidence and gain immense knowledge about vital skills and interview preparations. Taking a break to be part of FHN's Senior Mock Interview program and meet six high school kids today was wonderful. I've been lucky enough to have the Kent ISD or other schools ask me to give talks or participate in these types of events for the last decade, and if you're a business owner or in recruiting/hiring I'd encourage you to volunteer to do that same. It's easy to feel frustrated with a lack of qualified candidates or potential employees that don't seem to have the basics of interview skills mastered (even post-degree). With some practice and some advice on how to approach the process of engaging with a potential employer, kids can jumpstart that learning curve and maybe make a great first impression that continues to compound over their life and provide opportunities for them. #FindYourBetter
