🚗🔌 Exciting discussions on Europe's electrification journey! Last Thursday morning, at an event hosted by ChargeUp Europe under the patronage of MEP Herbert Dorfmann , the panellists Moumen Hamdouch (Head of Unit, Sustainable and Intelligent Transport, DG Move, European Commission), Peter Badik (CEO, GreenWay Infrastructure), Wolfgang Ademmer (CMO, Alpitronic), MEP Susana Solís Pérez (ENVI Committee, European People's Party), tackled crucial questions: How do we accelerate EV adoption while ensuring robust infrastructure? How do we keep Europe competitive in a rapidly changing global market? Key takeaways: 1️⃣ The EV transition is non-negotiable—but citizens need clarity and confidence. 2️⃣ Infrastructure and affordability are critical. Rural areas and grid readiness remain challenges. 3️⃣ Industry and policymakers agree: stability and predictability are essential to foster investments. Let’s work together to ensure Europe leads in this green transition by prioritizing the stability of regulation! 🌍🔋 #Sustainability #Innovation #EVCharging

💶 Does EU spending pass the 'electrification test'? 📋 That's the question EU policymakers should be asking when allocating energy funding and financing. ✅ The European Commission should prioritise direct and smart electrification when allocating existing funds. ✅ The EU should streamline funding and financing into manufacturing the technologies and the services that we need for #electrification, and provide support to electrify industrial processes.⚡ That is why we're calling on the new Commission to deliver an Electrification Action Plan within its first 100 days❗️ Join our #100daysToElectrify call 👇 https://lnkd.in/esv9UjU5 Transport & Environment (T&E) Eoin Bannon william todts

🚛🔋 Exciting news in sustainable transportation infrastructure! Federal Ministers Volker Wissing and Robert Habeck have launched a project to build a nationwide fast-charging network for heavy-duty vehicles. Key highlights: ◾ A network of 350 fast-charging stations is planned, covering about 95 % of Germany's highways ◾ The tender for the first 130 unmanaged rest areas is scheduled for late summer 2024 ◾ Emphasis on user-friendly, comprehensive charging infrastructure, which is critical to achieving climate goals in the transportation sector ◾ Focus on green energy: Aim for all trucks to be powered by renewable energy This project sets the stage for a sustainable mobility shift in heavy-duty transportation and #decarbonization of the transportation sector by 2045. 👏 For more information, click here: https://lnkd.in/d7ReUYwk #FastCharging #ChargingInfrastructure #eTruck #Transportation #GreenLogistics #SmartCharging

🎤 Today, our President Maciej Mazur participated as a panelist at the #ConnectingEuropeDays in Brussels! 🇧🇪 Organised by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU and moderated by DG Move of the European Commission, Maciej Mazur shared insights on current possibilities, limitations, and future opportunities for the direct electrification of the European road transport. 💚 The EU’s Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy indicates the need to cut transport emissions by 90% by 2050. One of the most efficient ways to #decarbonise is direct #electrification. 🚘 In view of this political vision, Mr Mazur highlighted that as the market for #EV is growing, the sector needs to be prepared for rising demand. Even though the future for the adoption of the EVs looks bright, some bottlenecks remain. The electrification of road transport faces challenges at the Member State level such as in the example of diverse timelines for the #grid connection across the EU Member States. To succeed towards meeting the requirements as set by the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (#AFIR), the national policy framework in the Member States should be harmonised and adapted to the AFIR simultaneously. 💫 Overall, he highlighted that we should be optimistic about what we have achieved for the electrification of transport. While we should maintain the current direction for decarbonisation, the EU should act faster as the technology advances quickly. Thank you to the organisers for this panel!

In recent years, the construction of charging piles is accelerating around the world. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), by the end of 2024, the total number of charging piles in the world will exceed 5 million, an increase of about 50% from 2022. The United States plans to build 500,000 charging piles nationwide by 2030 to support the popularization of electric vehicles. The EU aims to achieve a fast charging station every 60 kilometers by 2025 to ensure the convenience of electric vehicle users. Government policy support and technological progress have promoted the rapid growth of charging infrastructure, but at the same time, it also faces challenges brought by lagging infrastructure construction and grid burden. With the popularization of electric vehicles, the future of charging piles will be brighter! Let us look forward to this new era of green travel together! www.futdigit.com

📚 The newly released RETROFIT-AT-SCALE publication is an example of how to consider #domestic #retrofit for mass rollout. As well as proposing a set of #targets for retrofit, the document outlines an approach to retrofit derived from the economics of our national #netzero transition. The publication explores the #costs of #decarbonising of the UK grid and how a retrofitted, #low-carbon housing stock can be #cost-neutral when approached at a national scale. #LETI supports the publication of Retrofit-at-Scale with its introduction of a minimum 'no frills' Basic retrofit standard to help decarbonise the UK. It is important to LETI that this document be published in a timely manner, due to its significant impact potential. It is encouraging that so many volunteers from across so many disciplines are willing to contribute ideas for unlocking a national retrofit mass rollout – to whom we offer our thanks. #Download your copy now 🤓 https://lnkd.in/e4RrFwmf #BuiltEnvironment #BetterBuildings #ClimateAction

Thanks LETI for this fantastic guide to achieving cost sensitive, minimal impact retrofit of our existing homes. The fact that 80% of the homes that will exist in 2050 are already standing, highlights the importance of maintaining and improving our current stock. We cannot build our way out of the housing / cost of living / climate crisis. We need thought leadership and innovation, which you consistently deliver! #retrofit #housingcrisis #fuelpoverty #climateemergency
