Proctor Charlie Collective Weekly Digest, Dec 14, 2024 proctorcharlie.com Simple Sunday Sermon #54 this week came from the Jewish philosopher Martin Buber. Wednesday Colloquium #56 explored a whole range of emotions which may arise from our expectations. True to his word from last week, this week Uncle Ned went into hight gear and rendered to us his perspective on the Bad Words euphemism, scatology, facetious, and obtuse, although in his rush to press he ended up going back yesterday to correct a few of errors. Over the next couple weeks he promises a couple whole new word categories, but may have at least one more Bad Word to share first. If you should happen to spot errors before he or the editor does, there just may be an advance copy of Uncle Ned’s Little Book of Words in it for you. True, Uncle Ned is fast running out of new Words to share, but fear not. He shouldn’t need much encouragement, early in 2025, before he is ready to move on to his favorite topic: Big Questions. That may also be our opportunity here at The Collective to launch out on one or two new features exploring the wonders of the English language. We are open to suggestions.
