We’re pleased to be able to share a longer update from Abby Glennie, Co-Fund Manager of abrdn Investment Trusts UK Smaller Companies Growth Trust. Glennie covers the strong Q1 performance of the Trust that saw it outperform the benchmark. The management team subscribe to the idea of 'running your winners' and some of the best attribution over the period came from Ashtead Technology, 4imprint, Hollywood Bowl and Cranswick. There's talk too around the fund's sector allocation and stocks to look out for in the portfolio. Glennie touches on interest rates and the anticipation that they will fall later in the year. Will a rate cut prove to be a tailwind for the small-cap space as it has done previously? #UKequities #Smallcap #UKsmallcap #AUSC #Growth #InvestmentTrust

We’re thrilled to be giving Australian investors access to Pantheon who are trailblazers in evergreen /semi liquid mid market private equity, private credit secondaries, and infrastructure secondaries. Most importantly, they have delivered market leading results for their clients over a long period of time in this format. The math of evergreen vs. closed-end funds (money multiple) doesn’t lie—when done right, these structures can efficiently compound wealth far quicker than a closed ended fund for institutional, private wealth, and family office investors. However, they are fundamentally different from closed-end funds—and require real expertise to deliver. Despite all the fanfare of “democratising alternatives”, very few private market managers have long term track record in the semi liquid space. Whilst most will get it right in the longer term, it’s the portfolio lessons learned from the past that will minimise the risk of underdelivering vs expectations in the short to medium term. Despite an influx of offshore private markets and alternatives funds arriving on Australia’s shores, interest in differentiated, cycle-tested, and expertly managed strategies remains strong. We’ve been thrilled by the level of interest our partners at Pantheon have received over the past fortnight as they launch their Global Evergreen Mid-Market Secondaries offering into the Australian market.
