Happy month of Holiday Wishes Day 26! Feelings. Whatever you need today, give yourself that gift. Today is the day after. The day after the big holiday - however you spent it. How do you feel? Whether you were surrounded by family and friends or spent it alone, the day after can be a letdown. You may be exhausted from cooking, entertaining and the celebration. You may feel relieved that the holiday is over. Or sad that it is over. You may feel any number of emotions. Today my wish for you is to zero in on how you are feeling and where it is coming from. Why are you feeling the way you do? What can you do for yourself to relieve the unwanted feelings and grow the ones you would like to keep? Do you need a day of rest? Do you need to be alone or do you need to be around others? Do you need quiet time to cleanse your mind? Do you need healthy food to cleanse your body? Do you need fresh air? Exercise? Whatever you need today, give yourself that gift. Today my wish for you is to feel your feelings and nurture yourself. ~ #CornerofSpiritandBrave #LoveYourLifeNoMatterWhat #Holidays #Christmas #grateful #wishes #selflove #selfcare #morningafter

💎 Christmas 🎄 time can feel overwhelming. We stress about cooking the perfect meal, buying the right gifts, and making everything look just right. But in all the chaos, it’s easy to forget the real heart of the holiday: spending time together in a warm and kind atmosphere. No one remembers the exact gifts years later, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel. If you shower people with presents but carry stress, frustration, or negativity, the magic of Christmas fades. Instead of stressing out, focus on what truly matters—being kind, present, and creating a space where everyone feels good. The perfect gift or meal doesn’t compare to the gift of your love and attention. Take a deep breath, let go of the pressure, and enjoy this time. Because when we look back, it’s the laughter, love, and connection we’ll cherish most. #ChristmasStress #HolidayCraziness #ChristmasJoy #BeKindThisChristmas #FamilyTime #HolidayReminders #ChristmasLove #SpreadKindness #NoStressHolidays #Togetherness #HolidaySpirit #MeaningfulMoments #ChristmasPresenceNotPresents #EnjoyTheSeason #KindnessMatters #CherishedMemories #ChristmasConnection #SimpleJoy #HappyHolidays #StressFreeChristmas

The Smiles We Don’t See: Lessons from A Little Life I just finished reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, and it feels like my heart has been cracked wide open. It’s a story of pain, resilience, love, and the unspoken battles people endure behind closed doors—hidden behind smiles, achievements, and the everyday facade we all wear. As we step into the festive season, it’s easy to focus on joy, laughter, and celebration. But this book reminded me how crucial it is to also focus on understanding. To remember that for some, the holidays are a time of reflection, grief, or quiet survival. So this Christmas, let’s give the gifts that really matter: • Understanding instead of assumptions. • Respect instead of judgement. • Empathy instead of empty cheers. Behind every smile is a story, and behind every door, a life that deserves kindness. The holiday season isn’t just about tinsel and merriment—it’s about connection, compassion, and making space for everyone to feel seen. (Also, if you haven’t read A Little Life, prepare yourself. It’s not a light read, but it’s one of those stories that stays with you long after you close the last page.) Let’s make this season about sharing humanity as much as happiness. Merry Christmas, with all the love and understanding in the world. #mentalhealth #merikirihimete #aotearoa

The holidays are about so much more than the hustle and bustle—they’re about heart. ❤️ This Holiday Bucket List sticker I created a few years ago still reminds me of what truly matters: #presence over presents, love over lists, and light over chaos. 🌟 Let’s focus on what makes this season meaningful. Which one on this list speaks to you most? #HolidayBucketList #TrueMeaningOfChristmas #BeTheLight

The Holiday Season: A Time of Joy and Reflection The holiday season is often described as “the most wonderful time of the year,” but for many, it can also be a season of sadness, grief, or loneliness. As someone who deeply values connection and empathy, I’ve come to recognize that this time of year brings different emotions for everyone. For some, the holidays are filled with laughter, family gatherings, and cherished traditions. For others, it may be a reminder of loved ones who are no longer with us, personal hardships, or simply the feeling of being out of sync with the festive spirit around them. And that’s okay. The holidays are a time to reflect, not just on the good things we have but also on the ways we can extend kindness and compassion to those around us. Whether it’s reaching out to a friend who might be struggling, offering a word of encouragement, or simply letting someone know they’re not alone, small acts of kindness can make a big difference. If you find this season challenging, know that your feelings are valid, and you’re not alone. Let’s embrace the true spirit of the holidays—not just joy, but connection, understanding, and love.

Whether you are one of the 80 million people who will travel this week for Thanksgiving or simply having lunch with a friend in Spain, this quote offers very wise guidance. Thich Nhat Hanh said "The amount of happiness you have depends on the amount of freedom you have in your heart". We struggle about what to bring to someone's home for the holiday. The willingness to leave behind your job in the "truth police" will contribute much more to the gathering. Of course, there are "red lines" that may get crossed that need clarifying. The freedom to let go of our attachment to opinions allows us to move through any conversation with a spacious and free heart. That doesn't mean that you sit on your truth. Only that you don't cling righteously to it. While politics is one of those charged conversations, it can be anything that triggers our need to defend, correct or justify. "Explanationitis" can be treated with letting go. Those that prefer to sleep walk in their myth will not be awakened by your truth. Though you certainly can try. How has that worked out? There is a greater feast available during holiday gatherings than being right. It is a wonderful time to connect, open our heart and express the gratitude of the blessings in such relationships. Perhaps we bring the willingness to forgive a past hurt. We may be talking to someone for whom this is their first holiday season without a loved one. The loving presence of our deep empathy may allow them to release their need to rush through the day. Let go of any "calling" to rescue them from their pain. Rather, simply love them. Thanksgiving can be a time of immense generosity. Whether it is the affirmation of someone's sorrow or allowing them to have their narrative which may be untrue. We spend so much time around what we will prepare for the meal. The moments I remember most on such occasions is when I served or received love. Breathing in, breathing out. We will be passing through each other's life for a few short moments during these times. Let go of the need to change someone's perception while leaning in to the opportunity to touch souls. #thanksgiving #wellbeing #freedom #love #lettinggo #defending
