Some food for thought for today… “For a field built around the long-term view, it’s up to us to do the uncomfortable work and reach across part lines. If we don’t make addressing polarization a priority, will the rest of work be worth it?” #TimeToGetGrounded #ElectionDay #Depolarization #ClimateCrisis

On the day of one of the most potentially decisive elections in recent times, I cannot reiterate enough what Sandra Seru points out in this poignant article: “Climate and ESG are casualties of partisan politics [...]. We can (and must) depolarize ESG” to protect the basis of our actions. Because the fate of a - more or less - enjoyable future for all, a “buen vivir” at best, is at risk not only in the US but globally in the coming years of tension, crisis, disruption and division. #Valencia, #COPCali, #GermanPolitics and many others this year are just the latest examples of collective failure, and there could well be more to come. That's why their conclusion should be a yardstick for us: "For a field built around the long-term view, it’s up to us to do the uncomfortable work and reach across party lines. If we don’t make addressing polarization a priority, will the rest of our work be worth it?"

Great read. “I think the right to a healthy environment is actually the foundation that we require to enjoy all other human rights. If we don’t have a living, healthy planet Earth, then all the other rights are just words on paper.” “I can’t get people to bat an eyelash. It’s like there’s something wrong with our brains that we can’t understand just how grave this situation is.” #courage #worldview #mindset #systemschange #sustainability
