🌱 Collaborating with Communities to Build Capacity and Drive Change 🌱 When working at the grassroots, bottlenecks rarely linger for long—#solutions always emerge through collective effort and shared resolve. 💪 At a recent discussion with community leaders, a critical insight surfaced: to scale up our efforts and approach national and international #philanthropy effectively, we need to strengthen grassroots organisational structure. This reflection has led to a key decision to enhance the capacity and compliance of the Jalukie Students' Union Nagaland (JSUN). In this partnership: 🌟 The Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN)—the apex body of Jalukie Town—will champion social equity and drive the larger impact of our work. 🌟 The JSUN, as its subsidiary, will focus on providing structured action and bridging the gap between grassroots efforts and institutional requirements of philanthropies. This initiative not only reflects our commitment to empowering local communities but also sets the foundation for sustainable, scalable impact. Together, we are creating pathways for inclusion, action, and meaningful collaboration. Grateful to be part of this journey where every challenge is met with a shared purpose and vision for a better future. 🙌 #GrassrootsLeadership #CollaborationForImpact #CapacityBuilding #CommunityEmpowerment #GroundUp #Conservation #Livelihoods #IPLC Swapnil Chaudhari | Radhika Kothari | Preety S. | Aringle Hiekha

"The Unyoke Foundation and the African Women's Development Fund (AWDF) embrace the complexity of peacebuilding by moving away from a project mentality and adopting an approach of ‘accompaniment’—walking alongside local peacebuilders. This holistic support helps peacebuilders navigate daily challenges, innovate, and break cycles of violence. ...it’s about creating conditions that allow peacebuilders to "take off the yoke." Last week, I had the chance to bump into Ndung’u Nyoro at a funeral, and I couldn't stop thinking about the immense impact of his work. Ndungu has come up with an innovative resource mobilization model, where he engages Kenyans online to raise funds from his platform to support education, healthcare, and community development across the country. Through this initiative, Ndung’u currently runs Affecto Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to combat poverty through education. The organization also offers mentorship programmes that provide young people with career guidance. Today I applaud Mr. Nyoro for the amazing work he does, I have drawn the following three powerful lessons from him; 1. Humility in Leadership: Ndungu’s quiet dedication to improving lives without seeking recognition shows that impactful leadership doesn’t require the spotlight. 2. Empathy Drives Action: His commitment to providing education for underprivileged children stems from deep empathy, teaching us the importance of understanding others' struggles. 3. The Power of Collective Effort: By mobilizing communities online, Ndungu proves that collective action can make a significant difference, reminding us of the strength in unity. Ndung’u reminds us that big changes often start with small, heartfelt actions. His journey is an inspiration to us all! #affectofoundation #ndungunyoro

❝While we may have dodged the bullet of anti-democratic thinking for now, it will only have been the chronical of a death foretold if we don’t renew trust and strengthen the social contract at the heart of democracy.❞ As trust in political institutions teeters on the edge and the Sustainable Development Goals seem to slip beyond our reach, what role can philanthropy play in reinvigorating our outdated social contract? Indeed, if policymakers can partner with the philanthropic sector, it could be the catalyst needed to bring about a Renewed Social Contract. But, in tandem with increased governmental engagement, the sector must undergo self-transformation. Delphine Moralis, Chief Executive Officer at Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association, offers her unique expertise and insight in this Critical Thinking article examining philanthropy’s potential to be a changemaker. ⤵ Read more below. #CriticalThinking #RenewedSocialContract #Philanthropy
