🏆 Dr. Yanghui Kang and her team’s groundbreaking research has received an IOP Publishing North America #TopCitedPaper award, placing it in the top one percent of the most-cited articles within IOP Publishing’s Environmental Science portfolio over the last three years: https://ow.ly/wBfp50Rg151 Focusing on the US Midwest, a key region for global corn production, the research integrates diverse machine learning algorithms with environmental data to enhance maize yield prediction accuracy. Key findings include the effectiveness of XGBoost over other models and the importance of comprehensive data integration for accurate forecasting. I am honored to serve on the Environmental Policy panel as part of the AI for Agriculture Summit that will take place at the National Academy of Sciences Building in Washington, DC, July 29-30, 2024. (https://lnkd.in/dCb56pYt). This visioning conference will bring together leading experts from both AI and Agriculture domains to showcase agriculture as an ideal platform to address foundational AI challenges while advancing critical global challenges facing agriculture.  The broad goal of this summit is to develop a long-term technical vision and a comprehensive implementation strategy for utilizing AI advances to tackle challenges facing U.S. and world agriculture. A short-term outcome of this summit will be to produce a white paper with recommendations based on the discussion held during the summit. 

Delighted to share that our research article titled "Towards a Greener Tomorrow: The Role of Data Science in Shaping Sustainable Farming Practices" has been published by the International Journal of Computer Engineering in Research Trends (IJCERT).
