One of the biggest things I wish I did sooner as a business owner? I’ve been a startup founder for almost four years and a firm owner for 20. But this was the first year I embraced being a conference exhibitor. (Thank you to Randy Crabtree’s Bridging the Gap and Intuit for helping me realize what I’d been missing) Taking the leap and representing Levvy has already led to a jump in customer interest, podcast invites, the chance to attend an incredible leadership summit, new friends, and collaborations that I know will be critical to our growth — not to mention a whole lot of practice doing live demos of our practice management platform. Now that I know what I’ve been missing, I’m keeping an eye out for anything that intersects with the work I’m doing — especially events outside the accounting world. Some themes that are top of mind as I sort through events to prioritize next year: 1. Technology 2. Innovation 3. Leadership 4. Women business owners or women in tech specifically 5. Interesting industry-specific events outside the accounting world in spaces like fine arts, architecture, design and retail I’d love to know what’s on your conference list for next year. Maybe we’ll see each other there!
