Running a fully remote company has so many advantages, but let’s be honest—keeping the team motivated and connected can sometimes be a challenge. That’s why at dymaptic we’ve been getting creative with ways to foster engagement, relaxation, and fun! One of our favorite initiatives is a monthly company social. It’s a chance for the whole team to gather virtually and try something new together. In November, we had an absolute blast with a crochet lesson led by one of our developers, Juliette Bateman! The company sent out The Woobles kits to everyone, and we worked together to create little stuffed foxes. For most of us, crochet was totally uncharted territory, but that made it all the more memorable. Not only did we learn a new skill, but we also created a shared experience that brought us closer as a team. Moments like these remind us that connection and fun are just as important as productivity in a remote work environment. What are some creative ways your company builds team connections? Just as we carefully consider each expenditure, we should also weigh our words before speaking. Words, like money, have value and impact, and once spent, they can't be taken back. This approach encourages mindfulness and ensures that our speech is thoughtful, kind, and purposeful.
