Finance Fridays CFO Thought to Ponder: Commitment The themes I am impressing on ~130 graduate engineers in a new venture entrepreneurship course I teach are a few, certainly not exhaustive, but imho the most important. Unwritten, #0, is just "Start!". I'm also asked often what the hardest is after that. Well, all of them, but two especially. #3 personal commitment to the journey, and #4 commitment to the people who help you on that journey. Persistence, sharing the rewards with your team, growing the pie. Really hard to know until you experience it. This week, I came across the podcast on Groundworks from Mike Rowe (408: From the Ground Up with Matt Malone). I found it so inspiring that I made it a "game time" course assignment, as a truly "must know case study" for my students, one that brings the multi-faceted and challenging entrepreneurial journey all the way home. Listen to it here. bit.ly/TWIHI408 It does not disappoint.
