In the high-stakes arena of life science marketing, we’re not just competing for market share, we’re grappling with a complex set of issues inside and outside the company. While we all love what we do, our day-to-day work often comes with what seems like an endless stream of surprises, fire drills, and stress. These conditions can make it hard to discern how to best drive performance, while not driving others to BURNOUT. At times, we get caught up in the immediacy and often struggle to see the underlying pathology. Our default is to throw more things at the problem, only adding fuel to the fire. Surprisingly, this approach to dealing with underperformance and potential burnout runs counter to the natural cycle of things. In order to thrive, we miss that in times of turbulence and chaos, we need to *take things away* rather than add more things on. As teams and colleagues rush to the finish line of 2024 and try to catch their breath from a long year, consider what things on their plates (and yours, as leaders) should be removed from the lineup for next year so that time and energy can be reallocated to more impactful measures. #burnout #marketing #lifesciences #strategy #Lime

I almost gave up on my career. Two years ago, I hit a wall in my career. Burnout completely consumed me. I felt stuck, uninspired, and completely out of ideas. For a moment, I wondered: Is this path even for me? To top it up, I had a severe migraine for a month. That was my breaking point. I knew something had to change. So, I took a step back: - I reduced my workload. - I revisited why I started in the first place. - I focused on what truly mattered—and what I enjoyed. Slowly but surely, the spark returned. 📌When it feels like the end of the road, it might just be time to pause, realign, and reignite. P.S.: Do you believe burnout can lead to breakthroughs? ──── I help consumer businesses and personal brands gain and sell through storytelling. See my featured section. Stuck in a never-ending cycle of trying to be perfect, only to end up overwhelmed and exhausted? One of my clients recently opened up about this particular struggle: "Sometimes, I find myself really struggling with the need for everything to be perfect. I get frustrated when things don't align with my standards, and it's tough when others don't see the importance I place on getting things just right. It often feels like this pursuit of perfection actually holds me back. I can get so caught up in trying to make everything perfect that I either freeze and don't do anything at all or push myself harder, which just ends up exhausting me even more." The pressure. The high standards. The expectations. Overwhelmed? Good. It means you’re pushing limits. Dan Koe once said, “You’re supposed to feel overwhelmed. It means you're doing something new. You’re learning. You’re growing. That’s admirable.” Controversial? Maybe. But it’s true. Most people hate feeling overwhelmed. They label it as burnout and head out for a quick dose of “self-care.” But here’s the thing—feeling overwhelmed is actually a good sign. If you’re not overwhelmed, maybe you’re just not pushing hard enough. Discomfort is an early sign of growth. If everything feels easy, then maybe you’re moving too slow. The mediocre path may be comfortable, but it will take years to reach anywhere meaningful—if you get there at all. Push yourself. Embrace the overwhelm. That’s where breakthroughs happen. PS: Growth is like finding your way through a maze. The path isn’t always clear, but every twist and turn leads to a new discovery. #GrowthMindset #PushYourLimits #EmbraceDiscomfort #PersonalGrowth #ChallengeYourself #BeyondComfort #ChristUniversity

"I can’t avoid burnout if I want to scale my business—I just have to power through it." I hear this far too often from my clients in tech. But here's the truth: Powering through burnout isn't a strategy. It’s a recipe for poor decision-making, reduced productivity, and eventually, hitting a wall. Scaling a business is about sustainability, not survival mode. It’s about leveraging your energy, not draining it. Here’s how to rethink it: 🔸 Prioritize Delegation: You don’t have to do everything. Build a team that takes tasks off your plate. 🔸 Set Non-Negotiable Boundaries: Growth doesn't mean sacrificing your health or personal life. 🔸 Optimize, Don’t Maximize: Focus on key drivers of success, not on doing more tasks. The strongest leaders know when to pause, reflect, and realign. Scaling isn't about how hard you push; It's about how smart you manage your energy. Don't let burnout be part of your scaling journey. And if you want to learn more about how to turn your stress into your fuel, join my stress reduction workshop, Today! https://lnkd.in/gJnQXfU4 Hope this helps. #CEOLeadership #FounderMindset #AvoidBurnout
