It's good to see a tired, overworked worker finally getting the well-deserved peace, relaxation and appreciation deserved. It makes my heart 'smile' to see that this ol' gal is happy being valued just for being who she is now... A beautiful creation. She was worked too hard for far too many years without an option to walk away from an abusive employer. As humans, we are fortunate in having this option. It's the power of self-determination. It's free will. A spirit of fear and insecurity, however, can prevent unhappy employees from pursuing their dream-- even when company mgmnt makes the critical mistake of treating quality HOURLY employees as though they're salaried staff... sending work assignments, research to investigate, articles to review, etc. to complete after their work day is done. By disregarding a hardworking hourly employee's right to have exclusive 'off' time and use it as seen fit- not as the company's business to interfere with- the employee will likely suffer from burn out and feel disrespected. This single mistake can lead to trust issues and ruin the employer-employee relationship. It's all downhill from that point. Here's a simple company rule to establish & follow to ensure a mutually satisfying company environment, honoring a solid work ethic with gratitude & appreciation: Respect the personal time of hourly employees at all times. 'NOT at work' should also mean NOT working. Avoid being the company or boss that oversteps this boundary and your staff will have more positive energy to commit to the company's goals on the clock. It's a win-win solution.

HELEN FINALLY IS FREE Helen is a blind dairy cow who worked for 19 years before she finally was released to a sanctuary to experience a new life free of the shackles of captivity. Her story is a poignant reminder of resilience and the possibility of redemption, even for the most forgotten among us. In her new home, Helen is no longer a worker but a cherished being, enjoying the simple pleasures of grazing in open fields and feeling the warmth of the sun. Her journey from relentless labor to peaceful sanctuary is a testament to the importance of compassion and the impact it can have on all lives. Day 81: How to Greet Elders the Traditional Way G’day legends! It’s Day 81 on the Whoop Whoop Walk About, and today, I’m diving into the heart of tradition – the respectful way to acknowledge an Elder when you're stepping onto their Country. Spoiler alert: It’s more than a handshake and a nod! Before the Corporate Spin Back in the day, there wasn’t a script or a plaque – it was all about genuine respect and meaningful exchange. When meeting an Elder: Bring a Gift 🎁: This wasn’t a “box of choccies” moment. You’d offer practical items like: Tools (stone axes, spearheads) Food (kangaroo tail, bush tucker treats) Personal treasures (like ochre or woven items). Ask Permission 🖐️: Politely explain your purpose, whether it’s: Passing through Hunting or fishing Seeking knowledge or marriage connections. Wait for Guidance: Elders would give advice, stories, or even restrictions about sacred sites, ensuring harmony with Country. Today’s Lesson: Respect First Even now, when you meet an Elder, start with acknowledgment: 🖤 Pay respect to their ancestors and their role as knowledge keepers. 💬 Speak humbly and show gratitude for being on their land. Bonus Tip: No need for a gift these days, but a kind word and listening ear go a long way. Bush Bloopers Alert! Once, I brought a shiny fishing lure as a gift. Turns out, it wasn’t exactly “traditional” – got a laugh, though! Lesson learned: authenticity beats flash every time. Join the Whoop Whoop Walk About Learn more about ancient customs, the meaning of “on Country,” and laugh at my bush blunders! 📞 Call: 0402606481 🌐 Visit: https://lnkd.in/gXZKpc8m 📧 Email: admin@whoopwhoopwalkabout.com Hashtags to Engage #WhoopWhoopTraditions #RespectOnCountry #BushBloopers #ElderWisdom #wackedoutwalkabout

"Everyone deserves to die with dignity and respect. That's the core of it for me." End-of-life care is a difficult topic, but it's a reality we sometimes face in our mahi. When one of our whānau passes, we do everything we can to provide aroha, compassion, and dignity, whether it’s sitting with them in their final moments, planning their funerals, or reconnecting them with family. It’s not easy, but it’s deeply meaningful, and we’re committed to ensuring no one is forgotten. Read the full article to learn more about this important work. https://lnkd.in/gyijif-A
