A lower UGR value means less glare, leading to greater comfort and reduced visual fatigue. This rating system helps designers choose suitable lighting to enhance visual comfort and work efficiency. 💡 Reducing UGR (Unified Glare Rating) values can significantly enhance the comfort of lighting environments. Here are some effective methods to lower UGR values: 1. **Choose Low-UGR Lenses**:When selecting lenses, prioritize those with lower UGR values, as lenses are a crucial factor in controlling glare. 2. **Adjust Fixture Position and Angle**: Ensure that the position and angle of the fixtures do not directly shine into the line of sight. LED it BE - Project Completion We are excited to announce the completion of **"LED it BE"**, now featuring an astonishing **250,000 LEDs**—a quarter of a million carefully embedded points that create a mesmerizing visual effect through shape, texture, and lensing alone. Unlike traditional LED displays, **"LED it BE"** doesn’t rely on emitted light; instead, it uses the natural properties of each LED to interact with ambient light in the room. Each LED, designed with transparent plastic and a unique lens shape, catches and bends light, creating a subtle sparkle and diamond-like shimmer across the entire surface. The densely packed LEDs, embedded in a foam base, leverage their textured structure to refract and reflect surrounding light, giving the piece a dynamic and almost celestial quality. The art installation is mounted on a circular base with a soft, glowing edge light that outlines the shape without overpowering the LEDs’ reflective effect. Presenting Maha Tariq and Saba Wajid’s Interface Design for Third Year Industrial Design Studio. The project aimed to redesign the interface of an iron to enhance user experience, particularly focusing on addressing common challenges encountered during ironing tasks and ensuring usability for both right and left-handed individuals. To mitigate these issues, a push-latch mechanism was implemented at the top of the handle to facilitate temperature adjustment and provide clear indication of the selected setting. Additionally, the temperature settings were visibly displayed underneath the handle, with each number corresponding to specific fabric types.
