Last week I went to the D&AD festival and it was a masterclass in presentation delivery. This is what I learnt 👇 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁: Ask yourself how you can make it as compelling as possible to keep people engaged. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀: Include a hook at the beginning, cliff hangers, moments of joy, sadness, intrigue... create an emotional roller coaster. 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺: To add emphasis, add music. Especially at key moments.. it completely changes the atmosphere and elevates what you're saying with context and emotion. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: People are too lazy to read a bunch of slides. Add a big picture or short sentence and let your voice do the words... 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱. 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: Warm up the audience at the beginning. Break the ice, crack a joke. Be the real you.
