Earlier this month, the WFA Insight Forum convened in NYC as part of WFA Forum Connect — a unique client-only gathering of CMO, Media, Insight, and Sourcing Forums to tackle a shared priority: 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. For Insight Forum members, the spotlight was on 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗠𝗜 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 — exploring how the Insights function can elevate its role both 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 (with stakeholders and other functions) and 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 (with agency partners, academia, and beyond). 💡 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗿-𝘁𝗼-𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 We were privileged to hear three fantastic presentations from Shannon Weiner (Ferrara), Elisabeth Trawinski (Moët Hennessy) and Xavier Vaissiere (Colgate-Palmolive). Thank you for sharing powerful stories on collaboration, innovation, and how the Insights function can lead to meaningful business change! 🤝 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 A special highlight was seeing Elisabeth beautifully representing Insights on a cross-functional panel alongside peers from Julka Villa (Group Chief Marketing Officer, Campari Group), JOANNA Marrollo (Head of Media & Digital Marketing, Henkel), and Christopher Kredo (SVP Global Procurement, PepsiCo). This collaborative discussion showcased the growing importance of integration across functions to drive better outcomes. My top 3 takeaways? 💡 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 Insight Forum members explored how actively listening, anticipating needs, and solving challenges for stakeholders can strengthen trust and collaboration. These actions allow Insights to drive impact with clear, compelling storytelling. 🤝 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Clear goals pave the way for better teamwork and exceptional value. Taking those first steps on an awards journey can be daunting. I often hear questions like this from agencies and in-house teams alike: • Should we even be entering at all – why or why not? • What stories to enter? • Which awards and categories to enter? • Aren't they all just a big rip-off where you only win if you buy a table of 10? As I wind down for the holiday break, it is that time of year to reflect and look back on all that made 2024 the incredible year that it was: Black Swan Data: - Black Swan successfully navigated a GTM transition with the end result being more value and flexibility for our clients - This transformation ultimately led to a record-breaking Q4 and several exciting new partnerships underway! - Witnessed the New Business team apply more strategy and client-centric thinking to how we support our customers than ever before, up-leveling the game - Accepted the opportunity to participate as a mentor in Black Swan Data's internal mentorship program Industry: - Presented alongside Chris Todd in an Ad Age webinar on the topic of how AI-powered social intelligence can analyze battlegrounds for Gen Z consumers - Spoke at the #ESOMAR Art & Science of Innovation conference about the need to bring more science to the innovation process - Attended the #FEI24 conference, OvationMR and Significant Insights's leadership dinner, and The Richmond Market Insight Forum, USA - Reconnected with my friends within the #InsightsAssociation North Atlantic Chapter Personal: - This was my first full year as a mom!
