Ok this one was pretty clever. Has anyone tried testing #fuse failures with your smartphone?! Testing a fuse with a mobile phone works because of how capacitive touchscreens detect input. A phone’s screen senses tiny electrical charges from your finger when you touch it. If you place a working fuse on the screen and gently tap it, the fuse completes an electrical circuit between your finger and the phone's screen. This is why a working fuse allows the phone to recognize the touch and, in the video you saw, dialed a number. However, if the fuse is blown, it's like a broken bridge - there's no connection for the electrical charge to flow through, so the phone doesn't detect the touch and nothing happens. Imagine the fuse as a wire in a lamp. If the wire is intact, the lamp lights up when you switch it on. But if the wire is broken, the light stays off. No I have experienced internally damaged glass fuses that if pressed on from the end would show continuity. These fuses are designed to be clamped from the side of the cylinder. Even if it doesn't look blown it can be damaged internally showing intermittent issue. Hairline cracks do happen. Age, manufacturer material qualities, and moisture come in play. Be smart use a digital multimeter and test from the outer contact rounded edges without squeezing the cylinder ends. If you don't know consult a professional. This method is not accurate.
