We are excited to announce that an article by Gabi Kimche, a Georgia State University Law Review Articles Editor, is now published on the Law Review Blog. My career in IP Finance has had an unusually specific view on patents. The PTAB's 84% invalidation rates have shook and traumatized me, in large part because of the vast number of inventors I know who have been afflicted by this absolute horror show of a process by the @USPTO. Not only does the PTAB destroy inventors lives by taking away a huge portion of a person's life work, but they do so without reimbursement or compensation for lost effort on invalidation. Even worse, it gives the patent away for use by a large, infringing incumbent for free. The PTAB is a systematic threat to imploding the entire US patent system upon itself and here they are, teaching the students to mock trial the end of inventors livelihood. Shameful. Do better, USPTO. Do better.
We’re giving law students an opportunity to argue real cases before a panel of experts to sharpen their legal skills. Law students can dive into patent law during the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s (PTAB) Moot Court Competition. You’ll be able to showcase your legal prowess and network with industry professionals.
