Great discussions around the world of work. Recruitment and retention are critical for an organisation. It was good to discuss how the requirement for understanding and applying skills in an organisation is essential to ensuring you create an agile environment.
3 quotes leading CEOs agree with right now as they seek out opportunity amidst the chaos: 👉 “It's one of the hardest times to lead a company in my experience”, David Williams MBE DL. 👉 “A one-size-fits-all approach to leadership won’t work.” Kevin Harris MBA FCA. 👉 “Leaders nowadays have to be a chameleon but stay authentic.” Kate Tinsley. These are snippets from an excellent roundtable we hosted in the East Midlands a few weeks ago. The topic of the day was: “Leading teams through Change and Uncertainty.” Sam Metcalf summarised the challenge perfectly: “Companies and leaders at every level within the organisation need to have the ability to adapt to and deliver an ever-increasing pace of change.” It's fair to say that we are at a crossroads. 🤔 Some CEOs will sit on their hands and let 2024 unravel and try to pick up the pieces in 2025. 🤔 On the other hand, future winners are rolling their sleeves up and tackling the challenges head-on. As I’ve been working my way across the East Midlands over the last few weeks, I’m excited by the opportunity in the region. A big thank you to the rest of my fellow round tablers: Richard Blackmore, James King, Kay Chand, Emma Isichei, Laura Jennings and Adam Farrow.

Sharing the discussion from the recent round table event which provides plenty of food for thought. Business leaders have faced a multitude of challenges, including Brexit, the pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and economic fluctuations and the discussion highlights how these external factors have led to significant uncertainty, making effective leadership even more crucial. I'd love to hear your views and if you have some ideas for future roundtable topics or would like to be involved, let me know. #eastmidlandschambers #eastmids #roundtable #leadership #peoplefirst

Edmonton Global's update on Forward/Slash: Last year, Forward/Slash brought together members of the Edmonton Region's business community to spark essential conversations around shaping a bold future for our region. Forward/Slash is moving into the next phase and will continue its natural evolution into a business-led movement, with the community’s economic vision driven by local leaders and organizations. As projects and initiatives evolve organically, the business community will be encouraged to pursue opportunities and collaborative efforts that align with the strategic framework established by Forward/Slash. This will allow public and private sectors to converge around shared goals and drive positive impacts for the Edmonton Region. Edmonton Global remains committed to supporting these community-driven projects, while encouraging the business community to continue take leadership roles in championing the future of the Edmonton Region. There are many factors that influence economic growth in a community. One of the most important factors - and one that that many times gets the least attention - is the quality of local leaders and their ability to work together as a team. By working with EMC employees across Georgia, our Co-op Leads program aims to create a solid base of collaborative leaders, resulting in stronger leadership at electric cooperatives and economic growth in communities across the state. https://lnkd.in/eWXEwc73
