This is why you should not scan random QR codes in public spaces. Basically anyone can put his own sticker over the previous QR code, and can direct you to a phishing site that mimics the original target site's look.

QR codes are convenient, but they can also be dangerous. Did you know that anyone can replace a legitimate QR code with a malicious one? This can lead to phishing attacks and compromise your personal information. #cybersecurity #qrcodesafety #onlinesafety #digitalawareness #datasafety #privacy #phishing

Just before seeing this, I found an email sitting around from a recent ups phishing attempt that reached an ol' yahoo account. sent from someone at (something)school domain, but then message id from another domain, but then list unsubscribe from another domain, received spf from another domain, all of these have no spf dns options mind you. Received from, the same as x-originating-ip, nga[.]cn. The page was a ups email image, with two hidden images from bestpok[.]wordpress[.]com, with links to (generated number)[.]basirdlom[.]live. Then another img from another subdomain under that basirdlom domain. total domains: 8 list: taringanovelas[.]com xpwschool[.]com azfbmt[.]neh rft[.]dbzbest[.]com b8p34[.]basirdlom[.]live bestpok[.]wordpress[.]com 5pi93[.]basirdlom[.]live lmizy[.]basirdlom[.]live

I can imagine a lot of people falling for this phishing attempt. Seriously, I'm impressed.
