HOW TO RECEIVE POWER (No.2) Drawing Power From Fasting and prayer Matthew 17:21 (NKJV) However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." Fasting and prayer reduces the potency of your flesh from weakening and distracting your spirit, and increases the potency of your spirit to connect to God. Whenever the body is under the sacrifice and pain of your fasting and prayer, your spirit is enjoying the renewal of strength and connectivity to God who is full of power. The comfort of your flesh reduces power, while pain increases the strength of your spirit and produces power. QUESTION FOR MEDITATION. How well do you endure pain to strengthen your spirit? If you're blessed pls follow me for more💞

How would it be if we were truly able to bring Buddhist wisdom into our daily lives? One particular approach is by exploring the meaning and application of the six transcendental perfections or six paramitas. These six are: generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation and wisdom. This retreat focuses on exploring the six paramitas in a way that is both accessible and personally relevant to each of us. They help us connect with a vast sense of openness and embrace a compassionate attitude no matter what life throws at us. Find out more: https://bit.ly/3HxN8w8

Meditation, often overlooked by Christians, is likened to a sheltered sundial, protected but ineffective. Similarly, merely reading the Bible stores its truths without enlightenment. Deliberate meditation allows the Word to reveal God's heart, offering wisdom and insight. Like chewing food, it must be savored to truly nourish the soul. How to Begin Mental Prayer † First, quiet your mind and assume a posture of humility. † Know that you are in the presence of the King of Kings. † As a beginner, it will profit you to choose a subject for your meditation, such as the Passion, an aspect of God's nature, a virtue of Mary... † When a distracting thought arises, calmly dispel it and turn back to the Lord’s Presence. St. Teresa of Avila espouses Mental Prayer as an essential practice for the soul. As you mature in Mental Prayer, you will learn to follow God’s stirrings as He guides your meditation, and with patience and persistence, it will bear unimaginable fruits for the soul. https://lnkd.in/eSwn6Kaj

MEDITATIO I enter meditation now, I pause to be still; to breathe slowly, to re-centre my scattered senses upon the presence of God. 1. Lectio Read Ezekiel 47:1-12. I choose HEALING as a sacred word that draws me into meditation and prayer. Pause and breathe 2. Meditatio (Rejoice and Reflect) Sit or rest comfortably, close your eye, and internally introduce and repeat that sacred word slowly and silently. Today I‘m reflecting on the healing and life-giving power of the Spirit… Are there areas in my life that need healing? Are there areas that are stale and need refreshing? 3. ORATIO: Name areas now where you need healing and Invite the Holy Spirit to come and flow into them today. 4. Contemplatio (yield) And now, as you prepare to take this time of prayer into the coming day, contemplate what the Lord who loves you says in Hebrews 4: Let us then, with confidence, draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. November 9 Daily Reflections STEPPING INTO THE SUNLIGHT But first of all we shall want sunlight; nothing much can grow in the dark. Meditation is our step out into the sun. AS BILL SEES IT, p. 10 Sometimes I think I don't have time for prayer and meditation, forgetting that I always found the time to drink. It is possible to make time for anything I want to do if I want it badly enough. When I start the routine of prayer and meditation, it's a good idea to plan to devote a small amount of time to it. I read a page from our Fellowship's books in the morning, and say "Thank You, God." when I go to bed at night. As prayer becomes a habit, I will increase the time spent on it, without even noticing the foray it makes into my busy day. If I have trouble praying, I just repeat the Lord's Prayer because it really covers everything. Then I think of what I can be grateful for and say a word of thanks. I don't need to shut myself in a closet to pray. It can be done even in a room full of people. I just remove myself mentally for an instant. As the practice of prayer continues, I will find I don't need words, for God can, and does, hear my thoughts through silence. Yes, the Holy Spirit cares about what you wear after all. As a daughter of the most High, He cares about how you adorn His temple. Try this tip. Ask Him what to wear in any given day to represent Him well. Pay attention to what He gives you.
