Pole Star Global's Podium Premium Helps One Client Save $95,000 and 35 Hours on a Single Voyage. The original route (highlighted in pink) was planned to avoid what used to be a High Risk Area in the Western Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden, and Southern Red Sea. However, as of January 1, 2023, this area is no longer considered high-risk. With this updated information, the Fleetweather team at Pole Star Global’s Podium suggested a more direct route (highlighted in green), staying 200 nautical miles off the Somali coast. This new route is 492 nautical miles shorter, cutting 35 hours from the trip, resulting in faster delivery and saving over $95,000 in fuel and hire costs. By adopting this new route, Pole Star Global’s Podium has enabled this client to experience a faster and more cost-effective voyage.
