We are proud to share that OOX's CEO Negar Feher was moderating an insightful panel discussion "On-Orbit Servicing, Mobility and Logistics" at the 2024 APSCC conference in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday with Marion Andrieux, Chief Commercial Officer at Infinite Orbits and Sébastien Duménil, Chief Commercial Officer at Exotrail. A couple key takeaways from the discussion were: Government Support is Key: Instead of focusing on stringent regulation, governments should focus on becoming active customers of satellite servicing. By investing in these technologies, we can drive innovation and accelerate the availability of these services to meet growing space demands. The Need for Universal Standards: The future of satellite servicing, including refueling and upgradable satellites, is about 15 years away. The biggest barrier? Lack of agreement on universal refueling interfaces. Every year of delay on this front pushes back the timeline for realizing satellite servicing as a widespread reality. The panel's thought-provoking insights underscore the urgency of collaboration, standardization, and government investment in the space industry. Looking forward to APSCC in Taiwan in 2025!

Today, the European Commission awards to the SpaceRISE consortium the concession contract to develop, deploy and operate IRIS², the Union’s secure connectivity satellite system.   As the consortium enters its final phase towards the signature of the 12-year concession contract, Europe is one step closer towards digital sovereignty and resilience for the #EU.   Funded by a public-private partnership, the European Union is looking to build a system composed of over 290 satellites on various orbits and the associated ground segment to provide governmental and commercial services from 2030.   For SES Satellites, this milestone has been in the making for the last 18 months. Together with other consortium members and the European Union, we have been hard at work in developing a highly advanced communications infrastructure for #Europe.   For SES particularly, this important milestone aligns with our journey to building our future multi-orbit infrastructure, specifically our commitment to continue to scale our MEO capabilities, as well as, access to sovereign LEO constellation. Chinese firm files plans for 10,000-satellite constellation I just came across some exciting news published in the NTN Community by Andrew Leckie, that I had to share! Shanghai Lanjian Hongqing Technology Company, linked to the commercial rocket maker Landspace, has filed a plan with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to launch a constellation of 10,000 satellites. 🛰️✨ This could be a game-changer for global connectivity, especially in remote areas where internet access is limited. Imagine the possibilities of having high-speed internet available everywhere!
