Working with the wonderful Whizz Kidz, we captured the story of almost 2 year old Ibrahim, his parents, and their experience of being provided a wheelchair earlier than most would.
The pure joy on Ibrahim's face is indescribable 💛

The right wheelchair is the real difference.
For Ibrahim, this has meant freedom, fun and adventures, just like his friends.
Thank you for supporting our work, and for enabling younger wheelchair users like Ibrahim to go further 💛
Our thanks also to Ibrahim and his parents for sharing their story, and our friends at Gusto.film for capturing these special moments.

Did you know that impaired driving is 100% preventable? How?
Through technology. There are incredible technological developments to passively detect impairment behind the wheels. There is a law that has already passed, but desperately waiting to be implemented, that mandates such technology to be included in our cars. Our children and grandchildren can drive cars that are smarter in detection and protection. If we're diligent, we can too! Imagine that.
Through awareness and change in our attitude about this. Impaired driving crash happens ALL the time. It's not someone else's problem. After all, we share the roads! Also, we do not use the word "accident" because something that happens as a result of someone's choice to drive impaired does not warrant the description of an accident. Instead, we use "crash". Remember, our choices have consequences for us, our loved ones, and everyone else with whom we share the roads. 🚘💥
When someone learns that I work for MADD, they often joke that perhaps they should not be drinking in front of me. You know what's funny? This interaction often happens while we're in line for the bartender. 😆
Have fun but be responsible. If you drink, don't drive. Buzzed driving is still impaired driving. Buzzed boating is still impaired driving. You cannot be impaired and operate a deadly machine. It's simple. So let's change our attitude and behavior and help change the same for our loved ones, colleagues, and maybe strangers too.
How else is impaired driving 100% preventable?
Through engagement and commitment. You have taken a few moments to read this post (thank you!). Perhaps you'll take a few moments to share what you learned with your loved ones. Perhaps you commit to making sure that you and your loved ones never drive impaired. Perhaps you take less than 2 minutes to watch the video below. Perhaps you repost or comment for a bigger reach. Perhaps you become a volunteer, a donor, an event sponsor, or consider becoming a corporate partner with MADD. I'm happy to chat and also connect you with anyone that can help us identify creative ways to partner.
The invitation is wide open. The impact you can create with us is truly endless. Join us. ❤️
Thank you to the entire MADD team fearlessly led by our CEO Stacey D. Stewart, MBA, the marketing and communications team, led by Katie Alvino, that's been running miles per minute for the rebrand, our small but mighty legal team including Judy Duffy and Alma Puga, our engaged and supportive National Board led by our Chair Sophia Toh (卓秀貝), MBA, PCC, CPDC, CMA, CFM, CSCA and Vice Chair Erika Bennett, and to Muzamil Huq and his team at Morrison Foerster for their generous support and guidance.
✨ We’ve got something truly special to share with you✨
For the past 44 years, so many of you have stood with us, side by side, on the front lines of the fight against impaired driving. Your dedication and passion have made an incredible difference.
Now, as we look toward the future, we’ve taken a moment to reflect, and today, we’re excited to share our new guiding principle that will drive our mission forward:
Impaired Driving Ends Here.
With you, with us, and our collective commitment to create a safer future for everyone.
This isn’t business as usual. It’s a fresh, focused strategy to end impaired driving once and for all—but we can’t do it without you. We need your voice, your support, and your involvement.

Dear CARLA users
The CARLA team and community go to great lengths continuously expanding the diversity of the CARLA content library to reflect the diversity of traffic environments, buildings, vehicles and road users in real-world driving environments.
While CARLA's assets provide a good range of pedestrians ranging from children to adults with different clothing styles it's important to consider that some pavement/crossing users may be utilizing various modes of personal transport or mobility assistance devices. This is why we would like to bring your attention to an excellent, recent asset contribution from the CARLA community.
Marc Teuber, working at itemis under the supervision of Andreas Graf and Hamza Ben Haj Ammar, has contributed a wheelchair user pedestrian asset which is now available in the DEV branch of the CARLA simulator.
To add a wheelchair to a pedestrian model, first, check that the 'can_use_wheelchair' attribute of your chosen walker blueprint is true. If so, set the 'use_wheelchair' attribute to True then you may spawn a wheelchair user into your simulation.
Update your CARLA code and content and check it out now!
