We are all affected by breast cancer in some way. Help raise Awareness this month and every month! October is recognized globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a campaign aimed at increasing awareness and support for the millions affected by breast cancer worldwide. The campaign is not just about wearing pink ribbons, but about taking proactive steps towards early detection, raising funds for research, and supporting those battling the disease. With 1 in 8 women diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, awareness and education are key. In 2024, more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. However, there is hope. Advancements in early detection methods and support continue to increase the chances of survival. When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate of breast cancer is 99%, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) #breastcancersucks #breastcancerawareness FloodGate Medical

🎗️🎀Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Let’s Take Action Together 🎀🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to reflect, raise awareness, and take action against a disease that impacts so many lives across the globe. Did you know that 1 in 7 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? While it’s a disease that can affect anyone, the risks and challenges faced by different communities can vary. Research has shown that Asian women are often diagnosed with breast cancer at a younger age and may face unique barriers, including cultural stigmas and limited access to early detection resources. This makes awareness, education, and support even more critical. Breast cancer is more treatable the earlier it’s caught, so regular screening and self-checks are vital. Whether it’s encouraging loved ones to go for a mammogram or spreading information about early detection, we can all make a difference. On 19th October, I’ll be taking part in a charity walk for Cancer Research UK, raising funds to support ongoing research that brings us closer to better treatments, early detection, and, one day, a cure. 📢 This Thursday morning the Axiom Team will gather for a Pink Ribbon Breakfast. Our goal is to provide awareness amongst our team and raise $1000 to donate towards the fight against Breast Cancer. The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation funding breast cancer research towards a vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.   Breast Cancer stats in Australia: ◾ Breast Cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia and the most common among females. ◾ Everyday 58 people in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer, equating to over 21,000 people in Australia being diagnosed each year. ◾ 1 in 7 women and 1 in 550 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. ◾ Around 1,000 women aged under 40 are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, equivalent to about 3 young women each day. ◾ Every year over 3,300 people in Australian (including 33 men) will die from breast cancer. 💗 October is the NBCF's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗 Taking place yearly each October, the aim of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to educate and shine a light on the devastating effects that breast cancer has on thousands of people each day. This year, we at C&L Tool Centre will be getting together for a staff pink morning tea in support of BCAM and encouraging as many donations as possible to contribute to valuable research. Breast Cancer impacts millions of lives every year and extends from patients to their families, friends, colleagues, and community. Being the second most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in Australia, 58 people are diagnosed and 9 people lose their lives to breast cancer every day. Thanks to research, the survival rate has climbed from 76% to 92% in the last five years - and is continuing to grow! By donating to the National Breast Cancer Foundation this October, you will be providing a valuable contribution to achieving the vision of Zero Deaths from Breast Cancer. Standing up to breast cancer. Over the past decade, breast cancer rates have risen by 1% a year, with the steepest increase occurring in women younger than 50, according to a new report published by the American Cancer Society (ACS). The study also estimates more than 310,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2024 and more than 42,000 people will die from the disease. Meet Dave Freedman, Onsite Women’s Health’s President and Chief Growth Officer. During the months leading up to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dave was named a Men Wear Pink 2024 Ambassador by the American Cancer Society - Central Florida, where he committed to raising critical funds to fight breast cancer. In less than 24 hours, Dave raised more than $6,000 to help create a future free from breast cancer. "I joined the American Cancer Society’s ‘Men Wear Pink’ campaign because I believe it is crucial to support initiatives that align with our company’s mission to fight breast cancer,” says Dave. “By putting our values into action, it allows me to actively contribute to raising awareness and funds for such an important cause.
