Why is condition monitoring important? Condition monitoring is the key element of predictive maintenance (PM) that deals with detecting unusual or unplanned breakdown of machinery/equipment and evaluating the repair or replacement costs. Some of the main benefits of condition monitoring include; Better system-related reliability. The three condition monitoring principles; 1. Detection: Detects issues through trending vibration levels. 2. Analysis: Use vibration analysis for fault finding. 3. Collection: Take collective action to fix the immediate issue. #Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer.

As a mechanical engineer with a focus on maintenance, there are several key areas you might want to consider: 1. **Preventive Maintenance**: Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures. 2. **Predictive Maintenance**: Use data and analytics to predict when equipment failures might occur and address issues before they cause downtime. 3. **Root Cause Analysis**: Investigate and analyze equipment failures to determine their root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. 4. **Maintenance Management**: Oversee maintenance teams, manage maintenance budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards. 5. **Health and Safety**: Implement health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during maintenance activities. 6. **Continuous Improvement**: Continuously look for ways to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and increase equipment efficiency. Given your certifications and experience, focusing on these areas can enhance your skills and make you a valuable asset in the industries you're targeting.

What does a Reliability Engineer (RE) do? We observe both potential failures and functional failures. Ideally we can identify issues with a piece of equipment before it fails functionally; either availability, performance or quality. Motor couplings can be a "weak link" and their failure can be attributed to a number of causes. Cause-mapping and FMEA can help to understand most if not all of the factors and their severity and risk of occurrence. From there these factors can be mitigated through reliability centered maintenance strategies including things like PMs and CBMs. I love my job in that I can utilize my expertise in mechanical, electrical and electronic systems. We can also continuously improve the design of equipment to make it more robust. Spending much of my time helping turn wrenches with mechanics; I like to improve maintainability of the equipment. #reliabilityengineering #manufacturing #automation

Maintenance can be broadly categorized into several types: 1. Preventive Maintenance : Regular and routine maintenance to help keep equipment running and prevent any unplanned downtime and expensive costs from unanticipated equipment failure. 2. Predictive Maintenance : Uses data and monitoring tools to predict equipment failures before they happen, allowing for maintenance to be performed just in time. 3. Corrective Maintenance : Maintenance tasks that are performed to identify, isolate, and rectify a fault so that the failed equipment or system can be restored to its normal operational state. 4. Condition-Based Maintenance : Maintenance that is performed after one or more indicators show that equipment is going to fail or that equipment performance is deteriorating. 5. Reactive Maintenance : Maintenance work that is done after equipment has broken down. This type of maintenance is often referred to as “firefighting”. 6. Scheduled Maintenance : Maintenance tasks that are scheduled on a regular basis, regardless of whether or not the equipment needs it. 7. Proactive Maintenance : Focuses on root cause analysis to predict and prevent future failures, and involves activities that identify potential causes of failure before they occur. 8. Deferred Maintenance : Postponing maintenance activities due to a lack of resources, time, or parts. This is generally not a recommended practice as it can lead to larger issues over time. Each type of maintenance strategy has its own advantages and is often used in combination to achieve optimal results For More : https://lnkd.in/d46Gw2qt Instagram: https://lnkd.in/d6z4BRux Facebook : https://lnkd.in/d5nRtJXY LinkedIn : https://lnkd.in/dybxKy6D #mechanical #engineering #mechanicalengineering #mechanic #engineer #engineeringlife #manufacturing #technology #mechanics #mechaniclife #engineers #electrical #design #mechanicals #mechanicalengineer #mechanicproblems #mechanicalengineers #science #mechanicalbull #mechanicaldesign #mechanicalpencil #industrial #machine #electricalengineering #worldofengineering #innovation #mechanicgirl #engineeringproblems #engineerlife #construction .
