The report highlights ongoing funding and support challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, with BIPOC women experiencing even greater hurdles. These systemic issues also contribute to a confidence gap among business owners. However, despite these obstacles, many women entrepreneurs remain optimistic about the future of their businesses. In 2011, I graduated with my Master’s in Higher Education, dreaming of one day becoming a university president (true story). But God had other plans. In 2012, I founded Latinas in Motion. In 2017, I created Plan, Pray & Prosper: The Planner. In 2018, I helped my daughter, Eva, self-publish her book, Eva the Afro-Latina. In 2019, I launched the Mogul Mami Podcast. And along the way, I tried—and pivoted from—many business ventures. Yet, that dream of working at a university never left my heart. Fast forward to 2025: I’ve created a Women in Entrepreneurship Certificate Program and will be teaching the curriculum! Can we say full circle? The funny thing is, I have no desire to ever become a university president—I’ve realized I’m equally happy being the president of my life. 😂 What I know for sure is that I am walking in my purpose, and that’s something I would never trade.
