🔑 Presenting another key session from the 2024 EBAN Annual Congress on “Pitfalls to be aware of if you do exits” with Peter Jungen, Michael O’Connor, Reima Linnanvirta, and Ricardo Luz. In this insightful session set on the main stage, our panellists discussed the difficulties of performing exits in the current market and some insights into how to position yourself when divesting. Here is a rundown of the main topics discussed throughout the session: 💲Current exit markets show too much volatility to safely IPO and corrections need to be made to stabilise it. 💲 When planning your exit strategy it is important to discuss with your board and team ahead of time. 💲 Actively seek buyers so that you can choose the best exit offers possible. These options will allow you to use them as leverage when negotiating a proposal. 💲 When an offer has been made, focus on the reason why they are buying as it can be used to create the best transaction between founders, investors, and new buyers. 💲 If you are a small angel, show your value asap to new VCs that invest in growth rounds, if not be ready to step out of the way. If you don’t add value stay away from the board.
