Less roads = less cars... ✅ More cycling infrastructure = more cycling ✅ More safe walkable routes = more walking ✅ All of the above = healthy, sustainable, communities. ✅
Walk along the banks of Utrecht’s Catharijnesingel today, and it’s hard to imagine it was a 12-lane-wide asphalt canyon just a few years ago. Rather than bury or detour the motorway, planners simply deleted it; knowing the motor traffic would just evaporate and be replaced by people.

I don’t think I have ever seen a more potent example of how we can return our cityscapes back to people and environment. We constantly hear how challenging it is, and how much the ‘car centric’ design is needed to drive commerciality - which I think is much more nuanced. We of course need high quality public infrastructure and transport, cycling and walking routes - and we also need to accept and embrace sensible car use too. But our cities and towns have so much potential, to once again be livable and promote balance, enjoyment, and connection with nature. #Repurpose #LivingCities #ItCanBeDone #ReplacetheM8

Has your dock been retrofitted with our marine pedestal? NEC code has adopted needing ELCI’s on both the pedestal and onboard boats for all newly built boats and marinas, which is a good measure, but it should be practiced for all aquatic vehicles. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/ez_3eYca
