It's not been easy to write this paper. Its called #ConnectedHealth as there are so many components of global health systems that are currently disconnected ultimately impacting quality of life: 💊 Ability of innovative life sciences and biotechs to reach global audiences of patients and their health care professionals who need their therapies with a combination of clinical and digital therapies. 🏥 Ability of healthcare providers (like the good old NHS) to re-imagine the provision of care, through better use of integrated technologies and #realworlddata 👩💻 Ability of tech firms to develop solutions ( including #ai) that are regulatory sound, accessible, usable, engaging, cost effective and in demand. This paper comes from a range of collaborators. Mihai-Tudor Popescu-Birlan who brilliantly authored and was lead researcher. The team at UCL Global Business School for Health including Radi Haloub and Nora Colton whose mission inspired this. Biopharma innovators like Nils Eckardt MD MSc Mutlu Gunenc, BSc, MBA Mathieu-William Gilbert Ariana Berberich Kalberkamp Kristen Koopmans, the superstars at Signifly including Jamie Vaughan Michael Valentin Nicklas Rønning Patrick Rønning. Tech innovators like Dael Williamson and Jaan Nellis Francisco Ruiz A and Vahid Mojtahed, PhD , industry analysts like Nitish Mittal health investors like Les Funtleyder and finally analysts like Sofia Goldblatt who is starting out on her healthcare journey. We hope that this paper and the supporting event on 30th January https://lnkd.in/e6n3gFBT start the debate both inspire the conversation around how to build 'next' and how we can bring a wide range of multi-disciplinary talents together to ultimately deliver better outcomes for all.

The IHI Lucian Leape Institute (LLI), a think tank within IHI that provides strategic vision for improving patient and workforce safety, today released, "Patient Safety and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges for Care Delivery.” The comprehensive report, with insights from nearly 30 leading experts, includes a detailed analysis of the safety benefits, risks, and recommendations for generative artificial intelligence (genAI) applications. “This report is a much-needed deep dive into the implications of AI on the safety and quality of care, as well as how AI is impacting health care professionals responsible for delivering that care,” said Dr. Kedar Mate, President and CEO of IHI, and President of the IHI Lucian Leape Institute.
