Soldering close-together pins and connections requires precision and patience so I had to carefully position the components, ensuring they are properly aligned on the circuit board. Using a fine-tipped soldering iron, I gently warmed each pin and applied a small amount of solder to create a secure connection. It was crucial to maintain a steady hand to avoid solder bridges, which can cause short circuits and it’s often best to use clamps and external supportive tools. Flux was used to improve the flow of solder and ensure a clean connection.

Soldering is a process of joining two metal surfaces together using a filler metal called solder. The soldering process involves heating the surface to be joined and melting the solder, which is then allowed to cool and solidify, creating a strong and durable joint..

A little soldering trick I use on fine pitch components: Make a flux lake and load up the soldering tip with solder. Move into the pad parallel to the leg and when the solder starts to flows up move back out parallelly to get a nice flow back to the pad.

Have you had a tip that would not allow you to solder? This is called dewetting. Dewetting is caused by covering the outer surface of the tip. This may be caused by contamination or corrosion. Instead of adhering to the tip, the solder balls up. This prevents efficient heat transfer necessary for good soldering. A good tip should be straight and shiny. A dewetted tip is dark and may be bent due to the operator using manual pressure to achieve better soldering. If you have these issues, contact me. https://lnkd.in/eDVCQ9Xg #electronicsmanufacturing
