As 2024 comes to a close, and we look to 2025, I’m focused on my “Misogi Challenge” for the year. Always inspired by Jesse Itzler and his approach to life, I was really drawn to this one. If your org can’t/won’t hire a DBA for whatever reason (too many to list), PLEASE use a fractional DBA! They way to know if you need one is to ask a very simple question- “What will it cost (revenue, customer faith, time, rebuild effort, etc.) if we irrevocably lost this database?” Ask this question across all orgs/team/ users of the data. The answer should be obvious and the path forward very clear.
